Good book really. It was just a bit railroaded, but overall a good story.

A very interesting story wist a unique twist that makes the game play different from anything else i have experienced in CYAs. I had a blast playing through all the various ways you can go through the story line and think I have managed to do everything from Become the Myth to getting stuck forever in a dimensional gate! lol. Only thing that could have made this even better is if the Romance angles had been given just a bit more depth to them. While there are several to choose / follow, none of them left me feeling like I was with someone I really wanted to be with. I was honestly alot more hyped about reconnecting with my Father and the chance to have a real relationship with him, than I was any of the LIs.

I hard a hard time getting through this story, tbh. I found its world engaging and unique, and the premise fun, and exciting. But it quickly became apparent that any choices I made would not matter to the other characters. The side characters at the beginning of the story treat you like garbage regardless of how the main character has defined their relationship, (Why give me an option if it doesn't matter). I wanted to play a good person who let their selfishness get the better of them and was trying to improve and yet I had multiple characters tell me I was the worst person in the group despite having been convinced and outright forced to do work by those same characters. I hate every character in this game besides 3, not counting the mc. The vitriol I feel over this game can't be measured. Genuinely I have never had a game respect the choices I made less, and still preach at me about how I'm wrong. I wish I could refund this.

“Heroes of Myth” has a strong premise built around living with the consequences of a lie. Your character’s backstory is fixed: you and a colleague faked a prophecy and claimed to have defeated a villain who never existed in order to cover up a serious mistake. It’s an engaging setup, but it also means you begin the story already morally compromised and willing to deceive when it’s convenient, which may not appeal to players who prefer shaping their character from the ground up. (7/10) The story itself is engaging, with a good mix of magic, politics, and mythmaking. I enjoyed the writing and the overall narrative arc, and the romance options were solid, even if I found myself wishing there was more focus on them. This isn’t a Heart’s Choice title, so romance is present but not central. A lot of the experience seems to depend on the kind of character you choose to play. Judging by other peoples’ reviews, the game can be rather railroaded if your choices don’t align with the intended narrative direction. In my case, I rarely pushed against the grain, so I didn’t feel constrained, but it’s worth noting for players who like wide-open agency. Overall, it’s a well-written and enjoyable story with a memorable premise, even if the fixed backstory and occasional railroading won’t work for everyone. I had a good time with it, and it’s easy to recommend if you’re in the mood for a fantasy tale about truth, lies, and the stories people choose to believe. (7/10)

It's hard to find an interesting story with good flow, plot and great writing nowadays. It's also a long one too?! Sign me up! This game gave me a 7 hrs ride of emotional roller coaster that i don't regret ever reading, and i've only done 1 playthrough. I admit, HoM relies heavily on narrative, rather than game mechanics. So, if you don't like to read massive wall of text - this game may not be for you. However, if you want a game that treats every decision you made matter, extensive romantic developments, excellent story narration and FEELS?? Buy this game. Seriously, it's worth your time.
