It's like that old fashioned Heroes of Might and Magic that you loved, except without any of the fun. It's like a zombie HOMM, shambling along in a imitation of life but the soul is missing. I'm not sure why exactly, but I just don't enjoy it at all. It did make me pine for the real thing, though, so I'm playing HOMM3 again now.
It is a nice game, but i have to give a negative comment. 2 months passed since the EA but 0 update on content. Every update log was focus on balancing. WHO CARES the balancing if you have NO CONTENT.
Честно говоря получилась xyятина... Поиграйте лучше в классику.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game at this moment. 😕 Long story short: I don't care about PvP mode; the game lacks key PvE features this series is known for. Long story long. I am a huge fan and long-term player of the Heroes of Might and Magic game series. What I love this series for is an immersive, large-scale and unpredictable fantasy world, where you can encounter fantasy creatures of all kinds, complete quests, gradually progress through large and diverse maps, and follow a well-scripted story. I like to have large armies, learn all available spells and hero skills, collect all sets of artifacts, and conquer every available faction in the game in one scenario or campaign. I also love some level of randomness, where you encounter unexpected armies and receive unpredictable rewards in quests. I still remember that excitement you get when you visit a seer's hut and the seer asks you to bring an artifact or defeat a hero... But you don't know where on the map they are, so you continue exploring in the hope you can find what you seek, taking your time. Nor do you know what the reward for your endeavors would be, which may be both a complete surprise and a major disappointment. You get that same feeling when you see a colored border or gate, which you can pass through only after receiving a key of the same color from the keymaster's tent. But since you don't know where those tents are, or at which point in your journey you'll come across them, you anticipate great adventures full of surprises. 🗺️ Guess what? None of that atmosphere is present in the new game. Main single-player content that needs to be added but is currently missing:

quest objects, like quest huts, quest guards, and quest gates
water gameplay and water objects
underground level of the map
key tents, key guards, and key gates
long, handcrafted scenarios, where you gradually defeat every enemy faction, with each next faction stronger than the last one (The Empire of the World II, Wayfarer (E), LOTR 4.0, Paragon)
map events, either triggered by stepping on a certain grid square or by a certain in-game day occurring
a so-called "bomb" event, that removes an object on the map when triggered
In general, the game does not offer any tools to restrict the player from accessing certain areas and/or enemies until a certain point in their progress. I wish I were a good PvP player, but I'm not. The moment I step into that area, I'll be wiped out by some pro PvP player in a split second. ⚔️ The only reason for me to play this game is to relax in a long PvE session, at my own pace, splitting the game time into convenient chunks and returning to it whenever I have time. The most important thing here is that only when mapmakers have enough tools available to create long, immersive scenarios is there a chance for the game to get on track toward long-lived continuity and replayability. Ideally, we also need more diversity and randomness, by adding new factions too. I wish I were wrong in my assumptions, and that these features will be added in the future — I'd be happy to change my opinion on the game. 🙏 But as of today, the game has every chance of turning into a massive online battle arena, not a HoMM game.
Valiant effort, but as a single-player game it's almost impossible to enjoy. AI is either dumb and sheepish, or it arrives on week 2 with a healthy stack of tier 6 creatures. and AI's behavior is often just plain dumb. it's like plaing against free version of chatgpt. hmm3 opponents had more intellegence than this. it's not ai, it's dumb algorithms. the maps are crammed with everything they could think of, making it an utterly meaningless mess. there's no breathing space at all in any sense of the word. too many towns, too many dwellings. it's all generated in a very dumb mathematical manner. there's no life or joy in any of it. and there's just too much dumb unnecessary stuff. I'm going back to hmm3. this is nowhere near being ready, and I'm not talking about bugs, I don't care about those. The whole thing is woefully undercooked and rushed, they delivered a baby at half-term and now trying to build it up based on "community feedback" (aka responding to the loudest voices) instead of figuring out the game and its DNA first. maybe it'll get a little better in a few years, but I'm not holding my breath. they will make their money instead of making a game, I will be playing hmm3. fair enough, i guess. campaign (whatever is available now) is bland and fogettable. i wanted to like it, but it just doesn't work.
Please let me know when this game becomes fun - after playing this, I went back and played some HOMM 3 and HOMM V to make certain the genre hadn't just passed me by at my current age. It hasn't - its this game. The graphics are confusing, and mobile-like. The fact that "large" monsters occupy 1 grid space is just one of the multitude of issues with this game - it is a lifeless, cartoony, soul-lacking world. The mechanics are ok - I just hope everything else is a place-holder.
Decent framework but for some reason the devs are hyperfixated on PvP in a game that hardly anyone plays for PvP. They're going to ruin the game for 90% of the playerbase trying to chase a handful of people that will play for a week then run off to something that better fits a competitive environment. If the devs ever stop trying to turn this newest part of the series into something its not going to ever succeed at being then it might actually end up being good. I like what they did with the Laws, I like the variety in heroes, and I did enjoy playing for a bit, but everything looking forward is not so bright.
