New conquest mode is confusing and is nit very enjoyable to play. However old game modes still have the same HLL feel I love just new maps, better weapon mechanics, and updated graphics. As always just find a squad that's talking.
Get online for first ever game Skip basic because I played HLL a lot Cant play anything because I havent done the tutorials Spend the next hour doing all turorials Go offline again
a bit unfortunate that I had to refund this game due to white artifacts appearing across the maps, was looking forward to play it with my buddies whom I convinced to buy the game as well. The tunnel system is a nice touch and the graphics is somewhat decent although the explosion animations for the tank was a bit hard to witness. would have been a easily recommended game if it actually worked.
Supper buggy and clunky, but fun
Great fun, I wasn't sure how they would do the gameplay compared to HLL and they def. made both sides well balanced.
Just like base HLL, I have absolutely no idea what is happening. I’m running through the jungle, hearing gunshots from every direction, my squad is yelling “GI GOOO HOMEEEE!” at random bushes, and I’ve been staring at the same tree for 10 minutes wondering if it’s trying to kill me. 10/10. Completely lost. No idea where I am, who’s winning, or what I’m supposed to be doing. Having a great time.
The game is generally good enough for me but I can see why most people hate on it because of its current state, the only problem I've had is that the game is very poorly optimized and no matter how much I tweak my settings I never seem to be satisfied with the level of performance.
game is still very broken. almost no support for AMD cards. constant crashes. then when you do manage to not crash. no servers. all available servers aus (3) are full and cant even join a queue. Back to Hell let loose 1!
I have been playing the game since BETA, it is good, I did not have single issue whatsoever. It is insanely fun. I would like to be more weapon diversity, but according to roadmap it is gonna be good. 10/10 game for me.
a big change from the original game, a worthy successor that has a right to co-exist alongside the first game, a new dynamic tactical gameplay within the strategic frame that we know and love from the original. i absolutely LOVE IT. my top 3 most notable changes: 1) Map design - the bush/jungle with dense foliage obstructs vision and allows you to move freely across the ENTIRE map instead of forcing players to go through easily predictable chokepoints because the rest of the map is an open field like in the original. it really adds atmosphere too, to sneak through the jungle on high alert, never knowing when or where the next contact is going to happen. 2) the two factions, Americans and Vietnamese, have unique abilites and strenghts, and therefore playstyles. they FEEL fundamentally different to play. this adds more variation and it forces you to emphasize on said unique strengths, which creates a very engaging gameplay-loop as well as new possibilities for counterplay. 3) customizable loadouts. in the old game you had only 2-3 presets for your classes which was boring and frustrating. in the new game you unlock new equipment (and weight points to spend on said equipment) with every levelup, allowing you to bring exactly what you need to make YOUR playstyle work. f.E. you could choose between bringing a pistol as a sidearm, 2 extra mags for your main weapon, or 1 HE grenade, all of these things cost 2 weight points. or you could use the pistol as your main weapon and save some more weight points so you could bring even more grenades. 4) (bonus point) - new players are FORCED to complete the corresponding tutorials before they are able to play the more important classes, like tank crew, helicopter pilot, squad leader, commander, mortar crew,... a great solution to a serious problem. the devs keep kicking out regular performance optimizations too, every day i get more FPS. i have good faith in them, they're gonna keep working and polish the engine like they did with the first HLL. it was real hell on release, these days it just runs as smooth as butter..
