It's a fun concept, but it's super choppy and laggy, even for early access it's pretty bad at the moment, and seeing as its been 3 years since it was released and 2 since the developers put anything out about this game, i'm pretty sure it's a lost cause. Unless they come out and say something in like 6 months i can't recommend this game, and it's a shame because i LOVED hawken, but ever since my xbox broke i haven't been able to play it, and the little i did in the interim just told me it's dying if not dead already. Again, this is a cool concept, and i get the arguements for pvp, but i think it wouldve been a stronger release if it was released on hawken as a mode you can grind out to get rare materials, make it a hawken rerelease, especially since atm the only good games like this are titanfall 2, lost planet, armored core, and freakin helldivers. We could really use a strong mech game right now.
no wonder its on the top 100 worst steam games

i love infinite loading screens. because that's how it looks like
I tried to play this game but could not end the patrol. So I kept losing everything. I beat up that enforcer and he would not die. I completed like 3 tasks but could not end the patrol. It should be when you complete a task I should be given the option to end patrol or keep playing. The only way you can end a patrol is by losing all the loot you have so I don't get it. It is just not thought out very well. Highly disappoint cause I loved the original and really wanted to like this game. But it just ended up being really disappointing cause I could not complete a patrol successfully. I could complete tasks successfully but not end the patrol successfully and I sure that is why nobody likes it. Just most people probably don't want to admit it. Well I don't care cause I rather have a game I like then let my pride get in the way. So no body but a small few could progress any further. To see any further in the game.
This is not Hawken at all!
As far as bringing Hawken back, this is nothing like Hawken at all, it's purely PVE and it's not even wave-based like the PVE mode that got added to Hawken towards the end of its life. If you're looking for actual Hawken reborn as it once used to be, this isn't it, and you're still better off with crysis mods/mechwarrior etc for your PVP mech fix. BUT, for what it is, a PVE shooter with mechs, it's a fun little grinder, and I think they've done a good job with the assets. If you are strictly interested in a PVE shooter with a variety of mechs to unlock and build, this seems pretty decent, especially for free.
unplayable, solo doesn't even work and stuck searching for someone when i have it on solo, tried with other people but still searching alone, literally unplayable
Almost everyone leaving negative reviews either wanted more Hawken or got upset at that there was a store and never played more then a match or two. This game is NOT Hawken 2, TBH if they had chosen an entirely different name they probably wouldn't have been review bombed to oblivion; the game is at best in the Hawken world, there is no 3v3 mech fighting to be had. And everything in the store that i saw (at this point of time) you can get in the game. I've played for less than 10 hours and i've already found all the blueprints and am just lacking on materials to build everything. The game has a fun loop with an inovative difficulty curve where you can leave at any time, but the game gets harder the longer you stay in a match. it's not particularly hard; that is to say that I regularly play harder games. You take a mission, complete Points Of Interests(POIs) on the way, and POIs reset every few minutes so you can attack them for more resources multiple times in a match. Gettings past the naming, you have small, medium, and large mechs, trade off being health vs speed, each class of mech has it's own set of weapons to choose from and both the mechs and weapons can be modified to get them to work more the way you like it, which is nice. The mechs handle well and there's some fun goofy things the game lets you do like combining dash with jump jets to fling your mech around as well as ride the payload cart. There's a few nuisence things that that could improve like better UI navigation and streamlining pointless aspects. Like i didn't realize until my 10th match that you need repair your mech between matches, its free, why bother? and there's usually a 10 second delay between mission objectives,, again, why? Also took me too many matches to realize scroll wheel changes zoom XD. Most of the other irritations like jump pack activation can be changed in settings. All in all it's a fun mech game that you can play either alone or with friends. TLDNR: No 3v3 mech pvp, BAD name choice, good fun and sometimes silly, scroll wheel to change zoom XD
