Have a Nice Death is a 2D action roguelike where you play as an overworked Death, whose employees have run rampant, completely throwing off the balance of souls - and his vacation plans. In order to restore order, you'll have to grab your trusty scythe and show your employees who's boss.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 17 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Solid platformer rougelike. This game is certainly on the more intense side when it comes to difficulty. Controls and combat are top notch, however. Very tight and quick, though when you start out some of the non-scythe attacks you get can be a bit confusing as to what they do and how they work. Each run is a joy, though, and I find the game is very difficult to put down. That being said, I have heard from many reviewers that the progression outside the runs themselves lacks a lot. I don't play many rougelikes, so I can't comment on that as much. While I do see why that can make the runs and progression feel a bit slow and repetitive, I still enjoy the base run gameplay loop enough for this to not matter nearly as much to me. Keep in mind I do come from a very heavy 2D platformer background, though, so I can and have play through some exremely repetitive platformers atttempt after attempt. The music ranges from industrial rock bangers to spooky ambience. A wide range of fun to listen to music. I can certainly pick out some great outliers (Toxic Food-Processing song is amazing), but its more or less standard fare when it comes to game music, just a tad bit more varied when it comes to genre. I hear complaints about the dialogue and humor and I can see why, but the cheap and deadpan jokes do get quite the chuckle out of me sometimes. I appreciate games that can tow the line between dark and funny, and this game is no different. The artisitc direction is very good and cohesive. The environments ooze character as you go through each department. This cohesive style comes at a cost: almost everything is monochromatic. I assume this is to comminucate, you know, being in a world full of dead things, but it can make the game a tad bit depressing. It can also be really easy to lose track of your tiny black and white Death sprite when you're in a room full of fast moving and attacking black and white enemies. This, however, is a small problem and barely effects my runs. Overall, even with its flaws, I still really like this game. I don't know if I'll 100% it like I do my other favorites but its still fun and I'm glad I tried it out.

i love the humor

I LIKE
I'm not sure how long I'll be playing this game, as the beginning seems a bit repetitive, and you have to replay it every single time you die (it's a roguelite so it makes sense, but I wish there was more variety in what enemies/bosses you face in new runs), but the gameplay loop is satisfying, with fast paced combat and many skills to discover. I wish the upgrades were more game changing though (like in Hades for example).
