used to play until it started black screening. doesn't work on windows 11 either. none the the fixes online would work either. this is a POS!!!
4/5 stars. A unique take on the well known FPS game. Any Halo lore nerd will like the story, i feel they made a good try on the development of the story line. Its more of a casual game that you can get into pretty quickly. There is decent amount of missions and in-game achievements to keep you challenged. There isn't any difficulty modification so the changes are what make the game harder. I think what's missing is some way to rotate the screen for better viewing. The reason i removed 1 star was because they included some "Assault Ops" that were just really boring and felt way to much of a grind rather than fun. Like being tasked with killing a Brute Chieftain with a Magnum 10 times. Sure sounds doable. But since there is only 1 brute chieftain on the mission way at the end you must play the mission all the way through and be forced to restart the whole thing just to get the Assault Ops completed. This really takes away from the fun aspect of the game. Of course its not mandatory if you want to play the game but the development team really could of thought it through much more.

Hey kiddo, Handsome Jack here... and I just played Halo: Spartan Assault, and apparently someone looked at the Halo franchise and thought, “You know what this needs? Less Master Chief, fewer giant explosions, and a camera that's approximately twelve miles above the battlefield.” Bold choice. You play as a Spartan from a top-down perspective, which means you're still running around shooting Covenant, driving vehicles, throwing grenades, and generally making aliens regret waking up that morning. It's Halo, just from the perspective of someone who apparently has a drone following them around filming the entire war. The shooting is actually pretty satisfying. You've got assault rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, plasma weapons, grenades, vehicles, and all the familiar Halo toys. You can still get that satisfying moment where you line up a grenade perfectly and send an entire group of Covenant straight to the afterlife. Except now you're looking at everything from above. It's like Halo decided to become a very violent version of a board game. The missions are short and straightforward, which honestly isn't a bad thing. You can jump in, blow things up for twenty minutes, complete some objectives, and get out. No twelve-hour emotional commitment. No gigantic open world. No existential crisis. Just shoot aliens. And the challenge system is actually pretty fun. You're constantly trying to beat your score, finish faster, get more kills, and complete objectives under different conditions. It gives the game a nice arcade feel. But let's be honest, kiddo. This isn't Halo 3. You're not going to walk away from this thinking you've just experienced the greatest military campaign in human history. The story is pretty basic, the missions can become repetitive, and the top-down perspective takes away some of that huge cinematic feeling Halo is known for. Still, it's a fun little side adventure. The gameplay works, the Halo weapons feel good, and there's something satisfying about mowing down Covenant from above like you're personally conducting a hostile corporate restructuring. 7/10, kiddo. Fun, simple, and a decent little Halo spin-off. Not essential, but definitely worth playing if you want some bite-sized Spartan violence. I'd give it an 8, but apparently Microsoft didn't give me a giant Hyperion-branded Warthog. Terrible marketing opportunity.
Doesn't even load up the game any more. Black screen of death. No matter how many "fixes" the online community went through. Shame really.
has its flaws, but over all okey
