I was super hyped for the game and after playing it I'm just extremely disappointed with the game. Full of bugs and glitches from the NPCs, environmental and the lobby. It crashed on me and my group multiple times over the 6 hours we played it. Feels super unpolished. Feels like a Beta .. or maybe even an Alpha test .. might be the worst game I played this year so far.
unfinished game for 60$

Trying to save the NPCs is like escorting survivors in Dead Rising except ten times more frustrating. Whole game is just kinda boring and annoying. Type Shii Type Shii
OK, if you don't want to spend money unnecessarily, just listen to me. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, and NEVER EVER PLAY THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PIECE OF ♥♥♥♥!!
Single Player story is fun. Multiplayer is absolute garbage filled zero myers experience think more like idiot with a 2 handed axe with zero style. Out of all my game time I have not been stalked to tier 3, or contextual killed. Now add on ai that is entirely brain dead mix that with tons of bugs and challenges that are absurd to unlock a tint for a cosmetic. You may think well you have 67 hours. I did that on purpose and I was bored, I'm going back to being bored.
After a couple of long evenings, I'm ready to give my verdict. The game turned out well. Yes, it's literally a polished and modified Friday the 13th. The only major differences is that it's fully playable from the first evening, isn't a piece of buggy code, and has a ton of content. It's fun, varied, and capable of giving you a ton of funny and even scary moments. Cons: — Mediocre optimization. — A number of annoying bugs, from in-game ones during matches to progression errors. — Lack of variety. Essentially, we have a short test- story run dedicated to Michael, and the same MP mode, but on four maps. In a closed single-player match, the presence of Civillian bots or a Myers bot (depending on the player's chosen role) is simply begging for. — Lack of any tutorial when playing as a Civillian. We have an entire section of the menu dedicated to learning how to play as Michael, but there's no tutorial for the regular Civillian (even in a private game, as there's no bot Michael). — Step-by-step challenges. The inability to complete challenges in parallel encourages a very stifling and time-consuming grind (since you can't unlock the item you need until you've completed the previous challenges SEQUENTIALLY). Pros: — Excellent graphics. Beautiful city views, detailed interiors. I especially appreciate the superb character design, which features "layered" models (the body itself, injuries layer, clothing layer). — A large number of diverse activities in a match. Civillians can either just plain goof around (thanks to the proximity chat for both the killer and the heroes), organize a fightback, or make a desperate last stand, rescue NPC civilians or arm them and form a gang of vigilante militias. They can team up with police officers or even respawn as them (and we're not limited to just one summonable character, like in Friday the 13th). Furthermore, killed players can support their allies by completing minigames and summoning support cards. — Progression in private matches. I'd like to highlight this as a special plus, because after the connection issues of the first few days, this became a real relief. You can easily gather a team of buddies and play a full game, earning full challenge progress and experience on your characters. There's no discrimination between public matches and private lobbies. — Beautiful violence. Yes, that's a plus, because it's a Slasher. The voice actors did a truly magnificent job, and this is evident in the large number of character-specific lines and reactions to events, including groans and cries of agony. There aren't many finishing moves (yet), but they are well-designed, from the sounds to the effects on bodies. — Progression. You want to touch each character and unlock something for them that suits your heart's desire. It's also great that by leveling up one character, you can unlock a useful item for all the others. — Atmosphere. Yes, it's a trivial plus, but the game is made with great love and respect for the original film, where all the innovations are authentic and well-integrated. The classic music OST and sound effects are sometimes enough to make your hair stand on end or get you in the skin of the real Myers, the pure embodiment of Evil. After playing for over ten hours, I can say with a clear head and a pure heart that I didn't want my money back. I had a great time, and I'm pleased that a hotfix was released almost within 24 hours of the pre-release, fixing the most critical and annoying bugs. I believe the initial hate was exaggerated and a result of frustration over the bugs amid high expectations. Yes, it slightly dampened the experience, but it didn't ruin it. The developers are on the right track, and I'm looking forward to future updates and additions. The Halloween universe has a wealth of potential for future gameplay content, from new maps and modes to new survivors and Myers species.
I will not tolerate a company that claims to love the intellectual property it is basing its newest video game on, only to have them produce a video game that is full of "bugs." Case in point, on the first level as Michael the killer, you have a challenge to escape without alerting anyone. That means no killing. However, to do this you have to hope the video game doesn't screw up nine times out of ten. There is a "bug" that causes an orderly to stand still and not allow you to sneak by to complete the challenge for the reward. I've been playing this video game since it came out early on the 4th of September 2026, and they had four more days to fix this. As of this writing, it isn't fixed. I am expected to continue reloading the level again and again and again to find the one time that this orderly doesn't have the "bug." How about, they fix their video game and me not completing the challenge be because I messed up? It's too late to get a refund so I'm just going to uninstall. If they fix this orderly on the first Michael level, let me know. Until then, do NOT buy this video game. Denny Crane.
I guess I'll add another group of developers to my list of "Companies that are ok with releasing unfinished products to consumers for a quick buck rather than spend time optimizing their product before release." Seriously don't buy this until there's some major patch (or just lose interest altogether since it's gross to release a game in this state to begin with). Genuinely disappointed since I love Friday the 13th The Game and even though that game had some bugs, this game is astounding how unfinished it is. Not even just the multiplayer btw, even the story mode was broken and froze on me after I beat the first chapter, then it made me replay it. Genuinely gross to release this in this state, I hope to see improvement on both optimization AND the company's ethics in the future.
Buggy mess, what a waste of IP
