This is the first Halloween Stories game that I have played and is overwhelmingly the absolute best ever hidden object game that I have ever played. It is the complete deal. Story line keeps you interested in the game play and the bonus chapter picks up where the main game leaves off. The interaction with characters is one that I myself have never encountered. I extremely enjoyed the added "liveliness" of some of the animations, (streets apart from anything I have seen) congrats to the entire team that are responsible for them :-) I have no problem at all recommending this game to anyone, in fact I would encourage you to buy this game. My many thanks to the entire team for an absolutely fantastic, unforgettable and pleasurable game. Thanx

A nice Halloween game about four adolescents trapped inside the TV where three different horror movies are been played over and over again. PROS: - Interesting story; - Beautiful scenes; - Fitting music and environmentals; - Fast-travelling map; - Main game and Bonus Chapter; - Poster fragments, morphing objects, and collectibles; - HO and various puzzles. CONS: - Too much light in these editor cut games. All in all, a great game!
The story is corny and wants to steal a Stranger Things vibe (it even uses the font here and there), but as far as these games go this one is pretty good. A wide variety of puzzles, I'd say only maybe 10% are hidden object puzzles, so it keeps you fairly engaged. There's also a lot of backtracking to do, but that's made easier with a world map that will teleport you where you want to go. Three difficulty levels, a bonus level after you finish the three main ones, lots of hidden trinkets to collect -- again, as far as these games go this is solid. 7/10
Save Your Friends From a Cursed Tape of Horror Movies
After playing the second Halloween Stories game, it only makes sense to continue going through the series by checking out the next installment. This one is my absolute favorite, so let’s see if it stays as a favorite. One Halloween night, Ellie and her three friends decide to watch some horror movies on a VHS tape. She leaves and then comes back to find her friends have been sucked into the tape. However, nobody believes her. Two years later to the day, the tape is back and sucks her into it. It’s up to Ellie to help save her long-lost friends, traveling through each of the three movies and surviving the various horrors along the way. Slashers, ghosts, ghouls, creeps, and so much more. Is she brave enough to survive and make it through these terror-filled films? Can she put a stop to the infernal tape? Let’s find out! While I have played this game before, I still found it to be just as enjoyable and fun as I did the first time. Plus, it is still a favorite. As a horror nerd, I love how this game deals with horror movies and the aspect of going into said movies and experiencing them, just like the characters. I can only imagine how terrifying that would be. Just like the other game, the visuals, sounds, and story are all on point; they are creepy, atmospheric, and beautiful. Thankfully, I never got bored as I played through, and none of the puzzles or hidden object scenes felt like a slog. Furthermore, thankfully, anytime where I had to solve a puzzle/minigame or search through a hidden object scene, they weren’t too tricky. They had enough of a challenge that it didn’t feel frustrating. A bonus chapter is included, which didn’t feel like it continued the main story in any way but was more of a fun addition. It’s set at the high school from the first film, and a Halloween party is happening. But strange events occur, and it’s up to her and us to stop the cause. I do not want to spoil too much. In addition to the bonus chapter, the game includes in-game achievements and collectibles, like the previous game. There are morphing objects, figurines, and poster pieces that can be found. Make sure to look because I almost missed one of them. In my humble opinion, this is the best Halloween Stories game I’ve played so far. Congratulations to the team who worked on this! Awesome job all around, and I can't wait to check out the next game in the series!
5 out of 5 ★★★★★!
There is a bug over which I cannot progress: In the "Administration Building" behind the Scarecrow in one of the later stories (Ryan I think), there's a whiteboard with 2-piece matching pictures that you have to slide into place based on X and Y axis moves. One of the diagrams (the Moon) doesn't work when I match it up exactly, I cannot click on it... even though the hint tells me to click there, doesn't work. I even tried to change resolution and nothing helped. I'll be happy to update my review if this gets fixed.
Love this game. It's pretty fun and has cute graphics.
main game was pretty short but bonus game was pretty long. 7/10
Really enjoyed this HO game! One of the best I've played. Has an interesting premise and really cool visuals. There were a few puzzles that seemed to "glitch" or not respond correctly, but overall really fun and would definitely recommend.
