Hacknet is an immersive, terminal-based hacking simulator for PC. Dive down a rabbit hoIe as you follow the instructions of a recently deceased hacker, whose death may not have been the accident the media reports.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of the best puzzle experiences out there, if you are into computers and systems this is the game for you. Also the music is amazing, I jammed to it the whole game
SPANDEX IS A PRIVILEGE, BUT THIS TERMINAL IS A BIRTHRIGHT Yo! Grab your Jolt Cola, slap on your rollerblades, and look at the screen! Look at it! Most games hand you a plastic neon toy and call it "cyberpunk." Not Hacknet. This isn't some baby-town Hollywood nonsense where mash-keys-to-win happens. This is the digital slipstream! 1. An Elite Adventure: It starts with a dead hacker’s automated distress beacon and spirals into pure, adrenaline-soaked corporate espionage. It’s an actual mystery with real stakes, paranoia, and elite-tier narrative hacking. You aren't just playing; you’re unraveling a digital ghost story. 2. Streamlined for Maximum Rush: Yeah, some commands and mechanics are streamlined so you aren't stuck reading 80-page manual dumps just to crack a port. The pacing moves at lightspeed to keep the thrill alive, but the logic remains authentic and deeply satisfying. 3. Mouse for Casuals, CLI for Gods: You can point-and-click your little desktop GUI like a tourist, or you can live where the legends live: 100% in the command line. Manually hammering out cat, rm *, nmap, and porthack while the system countdown timers bleed red neon makes you feel like you just bypassed the Gibson. 4. Pure Flow State: The soundtrack bumps, the text logs are fascinating to dig through, and when you execute a clean sweep without leaving a single trace, you will want to scream HACK THE PLANET! It’s smart, thrilling, and an absolute blast of an adventure. 10/10. Zeroes and ones, baby. Zeroes and ones!
Hacknet is probably one of my favorite lil hacker sims currently, I think it's great fun if you enjoy these types of games!! Downside is you can absolutely softlock yourself quite easy, so make sure to be cautious about what you delete and when, since some important info can be contained in logs or other assorted files. Highly recommended tho!! Hacknet is largely terminal-based, and is pretty classic for this genre of game: you input various commands and poke around at other systems after hacking into them. There is also a more visual interface you can click around on if navigating purely via terminal is a bit rough for you, but there's a few sections of game that DO require you to only use the terminal, so I'd recommend getting used to it while you can. I come from a coding background so it's hard to say how intelligible this is if you don't have experience messing about with command prompts, but there are some tutorials present so I'm sure you could crack it even if you don't have the experience =)) You'll be digging around inside files for pertinent information, finding ways to mess with said files, delete them outright, or upload your own substitutes in order to complete quests for various factions and progress the story. Honestly, I really enjoyed all the hacking puzzles!! I think there's a good mixture of ones that're nice and easy to ease you into it as well as some that felt like they required a bit more digging and clever thinking. The DLC, Labyrinths, was also a pretty cohesive experience but it certainly expected you to have learned quite a bit from the base game so you could work very quickly. The time pressure can be quite real, so I hope you're a fast typer lol. I ran into one main issue, which was in the DLC. There's a section that asks you to use the command prompt to delete a file, and it seems to be somewhat inconsistent if this works or not - so consider this a brief warning, and a bit of a cheat in case you need it: using your file explorer to delete the file that way seems to work completely fine as long as you have admin. Then validate game files and restart the game and you should be good to go!!
It's a fun game, but the downside is that I have played what I assume is like half of the game multiple times now, and then dropped it, and when I come back there's too many things I have forgotten so I need to restart. Not good for my ADHD brain.
Increadibly fun and exciting. Really captures the "coolness" aspect of linux command line usage with resource and time management, and immersion sells it. Wonderful experience 10/10. Buy the DLC also, you wont regret it.
好玩!!!
