Guns of Fury

It checked all the right boxes for me in what it advertises to be, I had a good time with GUNS OF FURY.

Metal Slug, but if it was a Metroidvania. Really fun, great weapon variety, and some cool movement tech. Boss fight are unexpectedly difficult, requiring some serious pattern memorization along with a lot of luck. You can theoretically heal-spam through them, but it would take a lot of money to pay for that many healing items. Fair warning, don't try to obsessively collect all of the secrets every time you get a new upgrade. A lot of them require a combination of abilities, so you'll spend a lot of time running back and forth for little reward. The game introduces a much better fast-travel option in the late game, and a radar that shows every room with missed secrets right before the final boss.

Antes que nada quiero darle las gracias a mi amigo MH por regalarme este divertido juego (no público su nombre porque es un tipo discreto). No voy a iniciar con un “Guns of Fury es un juego desarrollado por… en el año…” eso no le importa a casi nadie y al que le importa, lo ve en la página del juego. Voy a ser breve, Guns of Fury es un Frankenstein, simple, pero muy bien elaborado para lo que pretende ser, Alguien previamente lo clasificó con mucho tino como un nuevo género llamado Metalslugvania. En efecto, la influencia de Metal Slug es indiscutible, la gestión del menú y el mapa es muy parecida a lo que veíamos en los Castlevanias de los 90’s - 2000’s y la historia bebe directamente de los primeros Metal Gear, ME TALadro la cabeza como repite suS LUGares comunes con frecuencia, pero con acierto, así que si te gustan este tipo de juegos de exploración libre y con backtracking sostenido te lo recomiendo mucho, incluso a precio completo. Spoiler: [spoiler] Busca el maletín y entrégaselo al Dr. Klaus apenas lo veas la primera vez o te vas a arrepentir. ¡Vas a ver MH! ¡Vas a ver por no habérmelo advertido! XD [/spoiler]

It's.... fine. Sort of. The upgrades are really lacking, you get the same movement stuff as every other metroidvania ever, there are hardly any HP capacity upgrades and they require very little exploration to find, and the shops seel almost nothing useful. It isn't terrible, but there are much better options available.

Very enjoyable blend of blasting and stage-scouring. A large map with a lot of secrets to discover. Recommended!

Overall an enjoyable Metroidvania. I got it because people were comparing it to Metal Slug and Symphony of the Night. Though it does fall short of both, it is close enough that i still feel like i pretty much got what i was looking for. Not a long game, but if you are looking for a fun Metroidvania this is a good one to try.
