About
Guaxiang Lu: Trigram Chronicles is a deckbuilding roguelike built on the Five Elements and the Eight Trigrams. From Qi Condensation to Ascension, walk the cultivator's road toward the Dao and eternal life, one step at a time.
Toss the coins to decide the turn's fortune — every step of the road brings fortune or ruin, unknowable until taken.
At the start of every turn, toss four Copper Coins: heads gather Yang Qi, tails breed Yin Qi. Every card in your hand costs Yin or Yang to play — you don't choose the Qi, but you choose how to wield it. Luck is a resource here, not an excuse.
Metal generates Water, Water generates Wood, Wood generates Fire... Play your Five Elements cards in their generating order to chain cascading bonuses into one seamless combo. At the same time, each element is a full playstyle of its own — will you be a raging inferno that burns the world down, or an unshakable mountain of earth? The build is yours to shape.
From Qi Condensation to Mahayana, the Eight Realms of Cultivation grow more perilous with every step: demons and netherworld foes bar the way, and forking paths, Fated Opportunities, the Myriad Treasures Pavilion, and Cave Abodes each exact their own price. Die, and the run resets — but gather all eight Trigram Discs, and you may glimpse the Gate of Heaven and open the true path of Ascension.
100+ playable cards spanning the Five Elements
50+ demons and netherworld foes, each with its own moves
50+ Fated Opportunity events, each a gamble between fortune and ruin
140+ powerful, one-of-a-kind treasures
And much more waiting to be discovered!

AMAZING "Slay the Spire"-style Xianxia card battler, but PLEASE DEV! ADD MORE STUFF AND YOU'LL BECOME A MILLIONAIRE! So, to start off, i LOVE the concept of the game and the idea. It is already REALLY fun, if a bit limited right now. Honestly, if this was being advertised as a "finished product", i would rate it 7/10, maybe 8/10 if i'm being generous and assuming all bugs and glitches will be patched. BUT as an "Early Access" demo, this gives me a LOT of hope for the future of the game, because, if just a FEW more things are added this could be one of THE BEST indie sleeper hits of the Xianxia genre. Like, THIS could be the next "amazing Cultivation Simulator" that everyone in the Xianxia community is talking about and playing. The potential for this to be a legendary game is SO there. For perspective, I bought this on the same day Dawnwalker came out because it had been in my cart for a week.... and yet, so far I have spent less than 1 hour on that AAA blockbuster of 2026 because INSTEAD, this little $10 xianxia game is just too much fun and too addictive to put down. It literally is beating a $70 top tier game for my attention and loyalty right now, that means something VERY amazing is going on here. Seriously, this is already such a cool game, you should probably just go ahead and buy it while its early access so th dev has more money and time to make it better, fix bugs, and hopefully add more things like story mode, maybe an overland map or arena style mode, there are a lot of possibilities but i REALLY REALLY hope more features, cards, characters, etc are added since this is early access. Seriously, Dev! The ONLY difference in this game making you just a few thousand $ or making you hundreds of thousands, is in just adding a FEW more things: If you give us a story mode, a "world battle" or mini map style area to fight enemies in another mode, a decent storyline, and maybe an expansion or DLC with another set of cards (maybe demonic path, corpse yin, and sword cultivation "element"? Or something like that) You are gonna be a MILLIONAIRE because i will FORCE everyone i know to buy this game if you do that. I think this could be the Chinese "Slay the Spire" and even eclipse that game, if not in popularity then at least in gameplay. I know it might be tempting to just fix a few bugs and call it finished, BUT if you can add at least a storyline to get people addicted, even if its just in text or ai voices like Where Winds Meet, it will double your sales at least, everyone who loves Xianxia/Wuxia is in it for the story. There are SO MANY games in this genre where combat and gameplay is trash BUT only the story is decent and they make so much money for just that. If you can draw people in with that, they'll see that the difference is you combat is ACTUALLY FIRE! HONESTLY! THE COMBAT IS BETTER THAN AMAZING CULTIVATION SIMULATOR! BETTER THAN STS1! This game is SO fun! So the "bones" are there to make a REALLY REALLY legendary game. If just a FEW things were added, a simple storyline, a "story mode" or long-term campaign mode, and perhaps a boss rush or arena type activities, and just a bit of dialog and storytelling, this could actually be THE #1 Xianxia game all of us in the Xianxia/Wuxia fandom talk about for the next 10 years. Thank you to the dev, PLEASE reach out to me here or inanitatem @ gmail if there is ANYTHING i can do to help promote your game in the west, in the Xianxia/Wuxia community or if i can be of help in any way about possible storyline or campaign additions. And gamers, this is THE #1 Early Access title in the Xianxia/Wuxia genre to keep an eye on. Its already fun as it is and worth "pack of smokes" money, BUT if things get upgraded and the dev continues to improve and develop this project into its full potential, we are witnessing something TRULY amazing EDIT AFTER COMPLETING A RUN: See, this is EXACTLY what I was talking about. I know it's supposed to be a rogue-like, but after a 5 hour run, i find myself wanting MORE. Not to start another short run, but to take the same character farther, face tougher enemies, new challenges, missions, etc. So for that reason, i REALLY hope that the short length of the runs will change after further development and will be added to. A long-running story mode or campaign mode I could sink 20+ hours in to would make this an Indie Game of the Year
