I've played 2.6 hours of this game so far, I've only just got to the first tripod chase. This could be my lack of skill or the initial slow pace of the game. You have 2 long walk sequences which seemed very unnecessary, then as mentioned by a previous review: if you change anything in the settings it resets to the last checkpoint. And when you're halfway through a slow stealth section, it kinda kills your motivation. During the tripod chase, they've made it so the beam tracks you, not such a problem in the initial are as you can run around and dodge it. However, in the next scene you're running towards the camera with the tripod chasing you. Look absolutely brilliant. But this is when the tracking comes in, if you leave cover even a moment too early, it tracks you and insta-kills you. After doing multiple attempts, hiding when needed and still getting killed by the beam, it becomes less intense and more annoying. This game looks visually amazing and I have enjoyed the game so far for the most part. But some of the mechanics need tweaking I think. I am not a game developer so I don't know the ins and outs or how hard it is to make. The developers should be very proud of the game they've made. But from a gamer standpoint it's frustrating when a game looks so good and appears to fall short a little.

One of the most unimaginative War of the Worlds games ever, level design is bland, autosaves are painful you can get almost to the end of a level and if you die you go all the way back to the start of it. Supposedly this game was getting a "remaster", but I have no idea if they actually did it or not because it's still broken. The enemies are so simple you can literally run past all of them and finish the game in a couple of hours, tripods look cool i guess but that's it. No explanation for why all the enemies in the game are humans, there's about 2 scenes with tripods in and other than that you're dealing with human enemies that teleport in front of you just so you have something to avoid but like I said you can just run around them and pick up all the items you need to get through the levels. The part I find the funniest is that this game has a "New Game+" so you can keep all your "upgrades" for the next playthrough, as if anyone will willingly play this game twice.
