Graveyard Shift

This is cool - the cemetery setting is definitely spooky. But the game is buggy, the security cameras in the disection hall do not work properly at night making while other cameras show proper night vision mode. Also when people speak I do not see any facial animations. As it is, it feels a bit flat. It is all about "go check this out", "go back to the security booth". The commuting between objectives and security booth is largely unencumbered and there is no "risk" in walking around. In the beginning this is enough, but you soon learn that there are no dangers and the fear factor goes away. The game could do with more roaming the cemetery and spirit torment. Like maybe try to avoid some demons and maybe have to run from them. Some timing elements would add a great level of depth and immersion to the game (which then can be unexpectedly interrupted with jump scares that the developer is so good at). The exploring of the catacombs felt scary and I was constantly waiting for danger and sudden death. It never happened, I roamed the whole thing without a scratch or drop of sweat once I realized that nothing is going to come my way. The meeting with the nun is very obvious and I though it was a wasted opportunity - I would have let her turn around slowly (let the player expect something bad) but let the nun look "normal". Then the security guard should ask her to come to the security booth because it is late at night, then as the security guard turns around, have the demonic nun pop up in front of him. If you have to pick one of DARKPHOBIA games, get Amenti! Everything else feels disappointing after playing Amenti :D
