An absolute, genuine delight. Shadow the Hedge-dog is a joy to control, to the point that I wish the whole game had just gone ahead and been designed around her moveset. Graphically dense, wonderful difficulty curve, and genuine speedrunning and search challenges for those who want to 100%, but that aspect is not necessary, and you won't feel pressured to do it outside of your own want of mastery. It's an absolute shame this did not sell better, and from interviews with the developer you can tell they are disappointed with the lack of financial response. So I hope this is the review that sways you - support these devs who put in the work, as the game is obviously pouring with graphical love and had to be Q-A tested to hell and back based on the solid level design. Can't say enough good (and play the first one too, both are great, especially on steam deck).
This one is a mixed review for me, especially as someone who really enjoyed the original Grapple Dog to 100% completion. The grappling in this game feels heavier and less snappy than its predecessor. While you can rebind the grapple and talk buttons (my preference is Y to grapple and X to talk), unfortunately on controller Y is permanently bound to restart time trial levels, and as someone who likes to hold down the button to grapple it has been inconvenient to have to restart due to this oversight. I also didn't initially care for Luna's controls, but over time I got used to them as well. The level design, while good and honestly better than the original game, unfortunately to me was less memorable than it. Some of the featured level designs (like the desert one and Catsablanca) honestly feel underutilized compared to ones like Monkeytropolis or Stormrise. I would have loved to see something like the final main level of the original game, where Pablo and Luna are running through every dimension trying to save the multiverse, instead of two levels in He[strike]ll[/strike]kk and then the final boss. The boss fights, which were the best part of the original game imo, were just okay; many of which honestly seemed repetitive and bland compared to the original. In the original there was a dinosaur chase boss, a flying dragon boss, Nul's fight at the end (which was peak); here it's just "here's an enclosed arena with a boss, go fight it" - what really set me off was that Vyr's fight, the final boss mind you, was heavily anticlimactic. In addition, you can soft lock the game in the level editor by testing a level with nothing in it. Considering the fact that the ending of the first game basically sets this one up, if you want to continue with the story of the original game go ahead and get this - otherwise, just play the original.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A sequel that improves on it's predecessor in EVERY way. I have my issues with the original, but this one fixes all of that. Tight and solid level design; Incredible fun mechanics (I adore the elemental items); great visuals; and a bopping soundtracks. I can only really criticize that playing as Luna with her gun is sometimes difficult due when trying to both platform and shoot. As she plays like a twin-stick shooter, both aiming, firing, and platforming can be a dexterous and reflex challenge. Regardless, this is absolutely worth your time and money.
A nice sequel! I'm looking forward to what's next for Joseph 😄
The gameplay basically is good but the Traditional Chinese translation is terrible. The conversion content sometimes is NOT translated. It stay with English or Simplified Chinese characters. Also, it shows a China flag to represent Traditional Chinese which makes me insulted.
GRAPPLE DOGS: COSMIC CANINES As the sequel to Grapple Dog from 2022, Cosmic Canines had a tough act to follow up on. Besides some minor problems with gameplay, Grapple Dog was a remarkably solid platformer that more than stood amongst it's indie peers as a pretty solid title. Thankfully, Cosmic Canines steps up to the challenge and smashes it beyond all reasonable doubt. GAMEPLAY Super fast and snappy, showing VERY clear improvements from the original game. Momentum is no longer tied to consistent movement, making for much more reasonable traversal and WAY more interesting Time Trial runs. The addition of Luna and the powerups serve to add refreshing shake-ups to the formula whilst blending in well with the rest of the player's kit, making sure that nothing feels out of place. PRESENTATION The art work is as stunning as ever, each level and character popping with vibrant and expressive detail. The music is a major step up, even with the original's killer jams, with the sheer amount of high quality tracks peppered throughout the game. REPLAYABILITY/COMPLETIONISM The game consistently rewards players who go the extra mile for collectibles and challenges. Alternate skins for characters, alternate skins for the player hooks and a BEVY of super fun side missions serve to make for a fun trip for 100% CONCLUSION While the original Grapple Dog is fantastic in it's own right, Cosmic Canines serves to take a massive step for the series with a massive layer of polish. I have no problem saying that this has become one of my favorite indie games ever. FINAL SCORE: 9.5/10
Universe Doggo is absolute cosmic chaos in the best way possible. I swear the dog has more personality than half my Steam library. The art style is adorable, trippy, and somehow majestic at the same time. I played for the vibes and stayed for the barking stars.
Criminally underrated
