Gnarly Hike

I've been a fan of horror games for years, and I have to say that this one actually delivers. The atmosphere is thick with tension, and the jump scares are genuinely terrifying. The graphics are beautiful, and the sound design is top-notch. The story is not well-written at all, but it keeps you guessing until the end, which is very weird and shallow. However, some of the puzzles can be a bit too difficult, and the game could use a few more interactive elements. Overall, I highly recommend this game to any horror fan looking for a truly immersive experience.

A simple first-person horror game where you wander around a spooky environment looking for clues that let you advance to the next area while maybe being hunted by a gnarly monster. There are puzzles to solve, a few sections with hide/sneak mechanics, and a basic story that kind of pieces it together. There's a "boss" monster that shows up from time to time and lots jump-scares. It's built on the Unreal engine so it's pretty but there's a certain jank to the overall design that puts people off. I didn't encounter any massive bugs but the Checkpoint/Save system is a bit weird. There's also a few sections that rely too heavily on invisible walls but it didn't break anything. I liked it as a low-budget horror movie. It's simple, cheap, and both scary & janky enough to keep me amused.
