Reviews
finished the main campaign yesterday and thought i should write a review this game is great. ive been itching for a good stealth game for a while and this certainly scratched said itch the overall feel and atmosphere i ADORE and i found it really fun to explore this world the level design is really cool and well thought out, the gameplay is decently immersive, direct combat is pretty ♥♥♥♥ but its by design so you play smartly instead of using brute force. the puzzles are really cool and the game lets you figure things out for yourself. that being said it is a double edged sword and i found myself getting really stuck a couple of times and having to look at a walkthrough to find out wtf im supposed to be doing overall this game is really good but its not without issues if an enemy spots you briefly or hears a noise, they can investigate for a bit of time and this can get really annoying at chokepoints where theres no way around. youll find yourself waiting there for a while and if one of them finds you they usually alert the others and fighting more than one enemy at once usually just means death if its your first time playing i would HIGHLY recommend playing on either the easier difficulty or with quicksave on, as the save points are scarce and dying can be really punishing to progress and make you really frustrated overall though this game was a blast to play and i would highly recommend playing it even in its short early access state.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Jul 26 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

After going through all of the Early Access content that is currently available (as of July 2026), thought I'd drop my two cents in the sea of reviews for this game: As other users said, that gameplay is quite smooth and the controls are nice to use. (I did play mostly on computer but I was also able to get by well enough on my Steamdeck for a couple hours, although I did end up remapping a couple of the buttons). There is something very nice about a game that gives off the "older game" vibe without me having to deal with the "older game" controls. If you're not a fan of inventory management then you might get frustrated once you get more than a couple weapon options, but I still found it manageable (especially after unlocking a couple of things as you progress in the game). I really like the direction of the level design. There are several times where you end up taking a backdoor, or secret vent, and you end back up in a previous section. The map's so far have also been designed in a way that you can take a few different ways around, which I always appreciate. The story and lore also doesn't overstay it's welcome. It drops letters and other information on what is happening in the world without feeling like I have to be broken out of the flow of my sneaking around. Just really well done in terms of atmosphere. Should you buy it even though it's still in early access? I would say yes. It currently still has enough content that I already feel I got my money's worth, and the game is clearly a labour of love inspired by other games in the same vein while also standing on it's own two feet and being it's own thing. It's not perfect (I will nitpick a couple things here or there), but It's a great game and really scratched the itch. Will be playing more as it updates. Keep up the great work guys.
Yeeeeep it'll scratch that itch. That Dishonored, Thief, itch. Yknow the one where the world feels somewhat alive. Or at least *lived in.* ImSim vibes. Good Bloodborne too. GloomWood blends direct yet dramatic mechanics to provide a surge of excitement. For example, traveling throughout an area until you find a lever and *click* secret tunnel near the start of the level, right under your nose or the controls to a gate. It's nothing new, but seeing how each shortcut falls into place making not only the immediate area but the whole city larger *and more easily traversed.* Or maybe getting a new tool and seeing how much of the world I wasn't aware of and how my perception changed. The world does a good job of telling stories naturally. Building connections, tunnels, environmental storytelling/posing, random holes in buildings, etc. Tack this on to some cosmic horror, Victorian hunter vibes with corpse recovery, testing, disposal.... and creating serums (to take on temporary "changes") while learning more about the beasts of this plagued city and the forces at play. If you're already interested in it, it's probably the type of game you'll like.

Gloomwood has to be one of the best modern day immersive simulators. The game is heavily inspired by Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2, as well as other prominent old school immersive sims like Deus Ex 1. Gloomwood is basically if Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2 had the skin of Bloodborne's victorian era theme and cosmic horror setting. With the people of the city of Gloomwood slowly transforming into beasts. Unlike in Bloodborne, you do not play as the hunter and unlike Deus Ex 1 you do not play as a cybernetically enhanced soldier. Instead you are a doctor who can die very easily and the only way you are gonna kill enemies effectively is via stealth kills. Whether its back stabbing enemies, shooting them with your revolver or shotgun, setting them on fire, or blowing them up with explosive barrels. Gloomwood also has horror elements in it, and as someone who never plays horror games I absolutely loved it. I 100% recommend Gloomwood if you like Immersive Sims like Thief: The Dark Project, Thief 2, or if you love doing stealth kills in Farcry, Gloomwood also scratches that same itch.
I Dont Know Whos Reading This But This Is One Of The Best Games Ive Played Ever
Haven't finished everything yet, but this is another new blood game that just kills it. I'm not the biggest fan of stealth games but this one does it right, there are tons of ways to kill one enemy, like luring them with loud noises before back stabbing them, blowing them up with explosive barrels, luring them right into a cleverly placed bear trap all while sneaking away into the darkness. It just works in a really compelling way, and once you get to the city area it's genuinely breathtaking. I only really have one problem with gloomwood and that's that I don't think the limited save system (like a lot of horror games have re4, Signalis etc.) works for what this game is going for. stealth games will always be a little bit trial and error so having to backtrack to save every time you manage to kill anther two goons so you don't have to do it again if you die kind of sucks that being said there's a quick save option I just figured out about that fixes this problem
so good
É um jogo incrível, Steam!
I love it, basically bloodborne, thief and resident evil all mixed together in a wonderful package.
