Reviews
This is one of my favorite games to play. I ve played some of the earlyer games and enjoyed them. Its a well made game worth anyones time.
Not one usually for writing reviews, but I found this game is the closest feeling to like a modern version of masters of orion which was one of my favourite games growing up. Really impressed with the amount of work and engagement from the developers would definitely recommend trying it out!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Some of the games aspects seem to be going backwards. research should be more diverse and allow the players more options in directions they want to go, Diplomacy should be more open when trade is involved. example when you trade with any race it is like you are behind power curve with them, but when they trade with you. you still behind the curve in the trade. should be a window to bring other nations together in trades. lets take to races fighting they come to you wanting you to join the fight. why not have a way to help them to come to peace agreement. give it more content. Space battles should have more to see. like have a choice to see it from command deck of a ship or from the view that is already in place. An more espionage play a part to mess with other nations. that is what i have for now. Still playing looking to see if i missed somehting. :)
Wonderful game, i like it more every time it runs, thanks !
fun turn based game. play as a kitten empire
I'll do a pro and con since im not really a stranger to galciv (played a chunk of galciv III etc) and the genre is my favourite, so i'll try and be humble. pros: I like building empires systems and fleets, i like the randomness, cons: dont like spam messages like 1 per turn diplo spam * some windows dont need to be fullscreen etc, * but the biggest con might be ai art, i dont like it when visual readability gets lost on nonsense imagery. * i like the 3d battles system would prefer there be a tiny bit of user input in that. * some of the frontend rendering seems off, like the scaling/detailing/lack of fixed fps, no dlss, (its kind of gpu bottlenecked somehow) *!* edit: fullscreen aa was the issue. no options for vulkan/dx/ etc the ini isnt that advanced neither. * dont like limited ai major empires vs minor vs pirates vs space monsters vs events etc, i still feel it could be smoother in game loop design. I'll keep playing, since there is a decent effort to update, but please dont chase the dlc, chase the actual improvements. then dlc. ** tough love
I love turn based strategy games, and Galactic Civilizations has been one of my favorites. IV still has some weird glitches, but nothing severe enough to ruin the game for me. I love the number of variables that you could manage, while the game gives you lots of ability to automate or minimize the repetitiveness of micromanagement. That lets you enjoy the fantasy element of the game. So far my biggest gripe was that a neighbor race I had good relations with suddenly turned on me and declared war. But they had no ships prepared to attack with; I ended up being the aggressor. Then after a series of successful ship battles, the game suggested I ask for a ceasefire - twice! This certainly needs to be made more realistic. Perhaps at a higher level, adversary actions will make more sense.
Love the game. The mods by people smarter than me are awesome. Lots of thanks to the people who mod for games.
