If you are going to play it single player only, pretty great. Multiplayer it absolutely falls flat on its face! Desyncs - Check Errors- Check Slow load (And I mean ridiculous initial game load..just can't understand how it past its first test) - Check Did we mention desyncs? - Because it'll desync if you look sideways at it. Lack of fixing any of its multiplayer in the near 3 years its been out? - Check. If they fix multiplayer and actually try. I'll change the review, until then. DO better.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Крайне ужасная локализация. Хоть играть можно, но крайне не приятно. Please fix the Russian localization. It’s impossible to play! The translation is incorrect in many places, poorly written, with lots of inappropriate abbreviations and random periods at the ends of words. Modern AI bots can produce much better translations, so it’s unclear what you used.
The SUPPLY mechanic absolutely ruined the game for me.
I have played all the galciv games but this is the worst. It's so full of bugs and design errors that it's ruins the game. Sure, this is nothing new with games today. But why are there still game breaking bugs in it 2 years after the release? Want to save up artefacts? No can do. Scrolling the artifact list is not working unless you find yourself an old fashioned wheel mouse.... How hard can it be to add a key binding for something as simple as SCROLLING? Want to zoom out from a ship? No can do since X is both zoom and eXplore! So there goes you ship happy exploring the galaxy instead of using the moves to get away from an enemy fleet..... Want to complete quests? No can do since the quest are broken. And no one bothers to fix them. One quest that you can choose in every game have only been completed by 2% of the players. After 2 years.... Strangly it seems that there are plenty of devs that work on the DLCs.... So this game have gone the way many game series have gone. It's no longer a fun game with a dedicated support team. It's just a money scam with an unfinished product and DLC upon DLC for concepts that was included in galciv1. Stay far away from this one. Galciv2 or galciv3 have higher quality and that says too much about this scam.
Stellaris lite, sorry to compare but I love that game as well. This game moves along and you can avoid most micro unlike Stellaris. It has a better theme and established history than Stellaris. I truly wish these games would let you start later at start up, so you could truly enjoy the mega construction and late game tech. So I cheat and mod it to do that. The mod community is much better for Stellaris but not bad. With Stellaris I felt they played the game a lot, where as the tech tree's are really tedious in Civ. Deeper and more complex than Masters of Orion but way easier than Stellaris. I like thier interface and theme better in Civ for sure. The Star Trek mod (horizon) for stellaris made that my favorite, but I like this for a quick sci fi game. Not too many expansions like Stellaris, so save up and get a package deal.
Feels dumbed down from the previous game. Maybe this makes sense in the end game, but the range of customization and control has been limited.
I've been playing 4x since the original Sid Meier's Civilization. Played pretty much every one and enjoyed them. I came to this one because I like to play games after their launch and shake down cruise and the Holiday sale. Gal Civ 4 feels like, "What if we did Civ in space? Instead of land to upgrade, you can build starbases between planets." So it's great; it's a highly polished version (4th generation) of Civilization in space. A better tech tree, AI, more customizable units, more strategies, diverse races some with missing mechanics to make their approach divergent, more mechanics to try out and explore ... and on and on. My hold back here is that the game feels like it has stayed the same more than it has evolved. With three decades, I'm hoping for something new. Also, I'm not as young as was several decades ago, so I don't have time to micromanage units and cities/planets. Frankly, it was always a slog with 4x, but with interstellar distances being vast, most of my time is spent planning to move units. And then of course, there is the ship customizer for you to micromanage your fleet designs. And what about setting up starbase array of multiple starbases across your territory and manage their modules so your ships can travel as quickly as possible? It's a lot of micromanaging, and at my point in life, too much. Like the Civ of Yor, I'm 18 hours into a game and the end is not in sight. Games are longer than the counterparts. Another point is that at my age, I don't have the time to play multiple 40 hour play throughs. But hey, maybe you will read this review and say you're a big fan of getting lost in micromanaging an entire galactic civilization. To each his own. UPDATE: I'm sure everyone is looking at this and saying, how can he not recommend it if he's played 77 hours? Well, I've played one game on large map for 50 hours, and I haven't finished the tech tree for the end game. Every turn I have manufacturing to manage for 20 planets and then send the ships it produces into fleets. Grind grind. Own half the galaxy, but still not done.
SCAM. Dont Buy It, Alien GTP no longer exist and they still are selling the game, when you dont can use it. I wish Steam drop out this game and Valve retire this game for Scam all their buyers
