The major problem of this game is that it's neither playable on kbd/mouse nor controller. With the controller you can rotate, but you can't aim. With the mouse you can aim, but can't rotate. Also UI is not really user friendly and mission stuff is not explained at all. Could be a better game if they spent more time on usability, but I doubt they'll ever improve it, so nope.
Looks like main point of this game is to create lots of different and colorful projectiles, everything else is just to fill empty spaces and today those weapons effects looks very basic and not terrible exciting like rest of the game. You can mindlessly fly and shoot until you ask yourself a question why are you doing this.

Great game that has a lot going for it already and a bunch of future potential. Not only does it implement procedural generation, it utilizes evolving content generation that is influenced by the players preferences. This game is as much for the computer art connoisseur as it is for those looking for a unique, evolving game to play. Anyone who enjoys games like borderlands and minecraft for their content generation would enjoy this game. Overall, I have bought it for multiple friends already, and would recommend it to art lovers and hipsters in addition to gamers who love finding new novel things on a regular basis.
Galactic Arms Race is a top-down space shooter. The most interesting thing about the game is that the weapons are procedurally generated. In other words, none of the weapons are designed by the game developers. Instead, the algorithm generates them based on your playstyle. The game offers a sandbox experience where you travel the galaxy shooting at the enemies without much purpose. Although there are missions, they are mostly designed to teach you how to play the game. I would describe Galactic Arms Race as a tech demo to show off its procedurally generated weapon dynamics, rather than a full release. Good music, colorful graphics and enjoyable shooting makes it fun for about 1-2 hours. Longer than that, the mindless gameplay will become repetitive very fast and bore you to death. PS: Multiplayer is dead. 3.5/10
Read all the reviews. This game is a waste of time because there is no narrative to follow. Its just a toy. If you are ok with that and it is on sale, totally buy it. I'd say 50% off is the fair price point.
Fairly simple game: space ship - lasers, kill enemies, level up, do quests that tell you to kill bad guys, repeat. Pretty much. Was an ok time waster for me for a while but, got rather bored after a few hours. I didn't really love it to begin with, and since it didn't become any more interesting the more I played it just became tedious and boring. It does look rather good though, even though it's not in some HD graphis I think it looks and feels good for what it is, even though I don't like it.

Best Arms Race ever !
Galactic Arms Race is a 3D rendered 2D Asteroids/Spacewar ripoff with an open world/sandbox and ship upgrade system added on. The idea isn't completely terrible here and the implementation is almost passable, with 4K support and some light graphics options. What bugs me is that even though some effort went in here, the competition is a million miles ahead. If you want a big empty sandbox to grind and progress in, Elite Dangerous does that amazingly better. If you want a 2D spacewar ripoff, Star Control games run rings around this. While this is "okay" as far as games go, it's surrounded by games that do so much better. I just can't say anyone should play this.
Flew around for an hour or so destroying pirate fighters and space stations that pose no threat and respawn faster than you can kill them. Not really sure what I was supposed to do, or whether that's all there is to this game. Visuals are pretty bad and destroying enemies is not rewarding at all.
