Frogbound: The Legend of Sir Hopper is a retro-style classic action-adventure implementing a retro aesthetic. Coded in Game Maker Studio and extremely lightweight, it is Stomaco Studio's debut title
Sir Hopper, a versatile hero, masters the sword, bow, and arcane arts. To unleash his full potential, he seeks the proper relics that enhance his skills.
Discover the Sextant, a relic that empowers Sir Hopper, equipping him with a deadly bow. Unleash deadly arrows upon foes from a distance, and use these arrows as stepping stones, enabling him to climb walls and gain newfound freedom.
With the Scroll in hand, Sir Hopper taps into the arcane, utilizing the surplus mana to float and propel himself higher, obtaining unlimited power and a double jump.
Equipped with the Broken Sword relic, Sir Hopper transforms into an unyielding Bulwark. His mighty slashes rend dungeon foes apart, unleashing devastating charged attacks and a formidable rush move, that propels him through the levels with unstoppable force.
With these relics, Sir Hopper embodies a versatile champion, adapting to different playstyles and conquering the challenges that lie within the depths of the dungeon.
Frogbound represents our first opus and acts as a codebase experiment, which we will keep working on for months, until we have reached a satisfactory framework to build the perfect metroidvania. Expect a feast of updates and play modes, for a snack-sized price!

Offers several hours of tough platforming for a very affordable price. The game will take you through three locations, however only two are truly challenging because the first is significantly shorter. You access them through doors in a corridor, but the order is linear because you must first find a key to unlock the next. Despite the different settings (pond, prison, and sewers), the fundamental gameplay mechanics remain consistent across all of them. This requires a lot of platforming, and searching for switches and keys that open up a path forward. Each chapter is made up of multiple screens. Although you can go also go back, this is not required unless you want to collect everything. There are secret passageways and areas, but this is not a metroidvania. The main collectibles are coins, which can be used to purchase new items. One of the most significant is the coin counter, which displays how many coins are concealed in the current stage. Aside from his jump, which provides some height control depending on how hard you press it, the game's hero is not particularly skilled. He can push foes with his tongue, although it does not cause any damage. Real power comes from three relics. The first grants you a sword, the second allows you to double-jump, and the third allows you to launch arrows that can be used to build platforms. Each stage offers only the relic you need to beat it, and you can’t freely switch between them. A few stages contain a well through which you can enter the underpond. This is like a hub where you can save your game for a fee, track your progress, and visit the shop when it becomes available. If you lose all of your health, you will respawn here as well. However, you must exercise caution because the game becomes more difficult with each successive death. At the start, you have three health spheres that crack one by one as you receive damage. If you crack them all, you will die and resurrect at the hub. However, you also lose one orb, which means you can now take only two hits. If you die so many times that you run out of orbs, the game ends and you must replay the world from the beginning. The only way to save for free is when you find grab the key at the end of a world. However, purchasing additional orbs is not a problem because there is enough money available. Since enemies respawn, you can grind for as much as you need.

Perfect, Fun and has the right amount of difficulty to make it challenging and enough frustrating! Puzzles are perfectly hard to resolve plus the story, characters and conversations are all memeable XD Totally in love. I'm really waiting for more games made with all the love as this one ;w;)/
Great pixel art platformer, puzzle game. Hope to see more of this in the future
很用心的关卡设计,被埋没的好游戏。 Thoughtful level design and an underrated great game.
Platform arcade piuttosto difficile.
I really want to love this game. I do like this game. I also kiiiiiinda hate it. I streamed this game on Twitch for a viewer suggestion day. The first 3 hours I had basically zero complaints and was having a great time. The world is fun, the powers are fun, and the dialogue had me giggling a few times. A few things kept me from loving it, especially once I reached the sewer area: The controls are solid for the most part with two big exceptions for me. Jumping out of the water, especially while you have the double jump power, is very wonky. It feels weird that every time you swim with the double jump power it activates the double jump visual effect. The other exception on the controls is the lack of "coyote time" when leaving a platform. Trying to platform between arrows is especially difficult when you lose the ability to jump juuuuuuust before you think you would. Having some coyote time would make a huge difference in how tight the controls feel. My last criticism is the sewer area. The amount of back and forth for hitting the progression switches was just too time consuming. Especially because the map is not the most intuitive. I got lost a lot even once I was able to save up enough money for the map. Once I realized how to progress, the back and forth was just annoying. A shortcut between switches 2, 3, and 4 would have been super helpful. (It is possible I just missed a shortcut.) Oh one more thing! I encountered two soft locks in the game. Going through the secret dev door with a key, I know it warned me not to but I thought that was a cheeky game being silly thing, if you then go through the open door in the next room to go back you are soft locked without the arrow ability. The other soft lock is going through the secret dev door exit without having unlocked the dev door entrance, you are then trapped. Overall I want to like this game more than I do. The game has a lot of potential. I liked the prison area much much more than the sewers. I ended my stream after playing the first trial once. My patience was sadly gone after the sewer area. If I could leave a neutral review I would, but I'll leave a positive one since there is a lot to love here and the negatives weren't egregious for a $4 game. <3<3<3<3<3 LunasList
I love this game, original and sometimes difficult. I love all relics and mechanics. Very nice!!
