About
Friendly Fire is a visual novel featuring interactive shooting challenges that aim to teach players the core mechanics of modern first-person shooters.
After their live-service game is unexpectedly shut down, a cast of colorful characters finds themselves stranded in a strange new world hosted by a mysterious cat named COLT. Now, this game is close to being shut down as well, and its only hope is for at least one new player to complete the game before it disappears forever.
As you interact with the game's quirky characters, you'll navigate their stories and learn how they are dealing with being trapped in a game that was never meant to be their home. Between story segments, you'll complete shooting challenges that teach the fundamentals of modern competitive shooters, including unique abilities, cooldowns, and a variety of weapons. Each level also features objectives that can be completed to earn a high score and collect coins to spend at the gacha machine.
With every challenge you complete, you'll uncover more about the game, its characters, and how these wacky heroes ended up in this strange new world.
Will you save this game from being shut down or will the game be lost forever?

it was an absolute pleasure to finally play Friendly Fire in its entirety. A short but sweet shooter vn, and an all around enjoyable experience. really loved learning about zeph, vivi and echo's story in full, after only getting bits and specks here and there over time previously. if i had to rank them in terms of how much i like them, id have to say: 1. Vivi (her perfectionist attitude is honestly somewhat relatable, i sometimes find myself stressing about how my work is just good, and not *great* per se) 2. Zeph (a very emotionally compelling story, i can def understand the desire of wanting to fight for your family) 3. Echo (cool character, but his story about distrusting colt at first didnt speak to me as much as the others) the stages themselves were also pretty great, with a very pleasing level of creativity in the design of some of the later levels (for example, the Echo level where you're stuck on a tower and have to use his ability to read the movements of the orbs floating around. it was reaaaallly fun to get the hang of. super satisfying too) overall, congrats to the Friendly Fire team for getting this game published on steam! yall are fkin awesome!!!!
