Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 7 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There's a charm and appeal to this game, but ultimately it has left a sour taste in my mouth. - Terrible performance - 12 hours playtime is an absolute lie unless you partake in the extra modes (end game screen had me at 1:30 but I played 2:30 because....) - One hit kill bosses. They get even remotely close to you, then you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Movement is sluggish, along side the terrible performance, so trying to dodge and reposition to fight is near impossible. A boss fight is literally you hoping you can dump enough magnum ammo into it's weakpoints before it can get close to you -- but watch out for the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ adds that can also OHK you from behind! - Boring puzzles, they're all just grab 2 items from 2 locations. The other solutions are so blantantly in your face it may as well have just popped up on the screen like... - Constant handholding even in the late game. Wanna climb a ladder? Well before you can do so here's a tutorial telling you how to do so. Overall I really wanted to like this game, but now that I've had time to recollect myself I find myself just angry knowing I wasted my time on this when I could have played anything else instead.
I want to love this game. I genuinely really enjoyed it up until the point where every time I load the game crashes and the solution is "your PC is the problem." You're game isn't that powerful bud, my PC isn't the problem. The link in the crash report doesn't even take me anywhere remotely useful. A really well paced dinosaur horror game that's the right amount of cheesy just ruined by bugs. Thank god I got this on a Humble Bundle.

I'm not nostalgic for whatever this appears to be trying to be an homage to, so judging this based on it's gameplay alone: I cannot recommend. Clunky gunplay, Bad forced hints, control popups and "cutscenes" all over the place, broken up by weird forced loading screens, Halo forge looking maps and design, and strange damage balancing. I gave it a good hour, and it was a chore for 45 of those minutes. 3/10
In my personal opinion it feels like a money grab based on dino and horror lovers ...graphics are very good looks insane but the gameplay is empty ...like not a really porpouse/map just walk around and look for things which are there or aren't or are but very hidden ...from trailers and screenshots looks like you are on an island and fight dinosaurs not go into a bunker and end up in a museum and find a dino in bunker you can kill with one hit of an axe ...he don't even reacted ...if there really is guns in this game ..1-2 bullets kill dinosaours ?! are they are more tough ...well first minutes are crucial ...and these first minutes feels like a waste of time ...played similar games way more nice and beautiful !
If i could give this a neutral recommendation I would; This game feels like it was made with enthusiasm and a love of the horror-themed action game, however the passion behind this game isn't enough to carry it to positive recommendation. The game performs poorly regardless of what graphical settings it is set to, several significant bugs constantly get in the way, and the gameplay just was not satisfying. Overall an unrefined experience. I hope this developer continues to hone their craft and make a game that matches the passion I felt from this game.
I'm about 40 minutes in to the first game of Fossil Fuel 2, and I would say that a lot of it needs significant work in order for it to feel 'scary' or even optimized. Cutscenes out of nowhere that completely throw off your gameplay, slow mechanics, robotic dinosaur models that open doors, and the 'Homoerectus Rex'; a superhuman dude that I didn't even attempt to fight, just outran. Capable of smashing through solid steel blast doors and cement walls, but somehow we evade him by...a falling wooden crate blocking his path. Dinosaurs loose in the laboratory would feel much more realistic and terrifying if there was logical reasons for them to be there, not just spawning in the map randomly or sleeping in empty hallways and rooms. Not to mention how ungodly slow they are, two hits with the melee tomahawk kill them, and their melee range is a bit iffy, especially when stuck in an attack animation. There were random anglerfish in a flooded passageway for absolutely no reason, no other fish or aquatic life existing nor access to the outside. Huge logic and story errors with minimal effort voice acting, definitely an amateur project that I'm glad I only paid $5 for. I would expect this still to be in early access, not for the creator to be releasing a third installment of an unfinished, half-baked project.
The game is honestly REALLY GOOD! I hope the next game has more ocean stuff and more ocean dinos! I have a great fear of the open ocean and the waters so on the first mission I had to go in the waters, I WAS SCARED ASF!!! but i loved it SOOO MUCH!! i like that and this game is HIGHLY RECCOMENDED and hopefully the next game has alot of more ocean levels, creatures, the horror of the game is honestly the best part of the 1st and the second game!! IF YOU HAVE A STEAM DECK or them portable handhelds its a must have on the plane or the computer too!!
Disappointing
I really wanted to like Fossilfuel 2, so much so that I got all 3 endings, even when I just wasn't having fun with it, and part of that is because of how much potential it had, and still has if the developer cared enough to fix some of its glaring issues. To start off though I want to give credit where it's due and talk about the good parts of this game. I think it nails the atmosphere. You really feel like you're alone in underground facility overrun with dinosaurs. There's some really tense parts of the game and some genuinely well done scares and atmosphere. For a short game there was a good variety of enemies, and a fair amount of hidden secrets that made me want to explore. I also thought the gunplay wasn't bad, and was actually a lot better than I was expecting. The game also does a good job of keeping gameplay fresh introducing some new ideas, some of which were pretty creative and fun, especially some parts that are even locked behind going towards certain endings at the end of the game. The boss fights are well done minus a glaring issue I encountered with the final boss of the game, but overall I was pleasantly surprised with a lot this game had to offer. I do wish the lore was a little more fleshed out though, as the story is basically nonexistent and was as generic and boring as it could be. Now for my issues with the game and why I can't recommend it in it's current state. The game runs like absolute crap. Constant frame drops, especially in combat made parts of the game near unplayable, and this was after turning my graphics and settings as low as possible, something I shouldn't have even had to do in the first place considering the game doesn't even look all that amazing. If I went 15 seconds without experiencing drops down to as low as 15-20 fps while even just walking around, it was a miracle. Some things I can excuse with it being an indie game such as the subpar graphics, and awful voice acting, but the game being this poorly optimized and running this poorly is inexcusable, especially when you're charging $20 for what is essentially a 3 hour asset flip game. It takes away from all the good ideas, and decent level design, when I can't enjoy any of it without feeling like I'm playing an unfinished game. I also think the final act of the game is absolutely terrible. The first 3/4 of the game are actually not that bad, and if the game ran better, I'd even consider good, but the end of this game is an absolute slog. It introduces perhaps the most bullet spongey enemies I've ever seen, and has you killing wave after wave of them with some truly awful checkpoints. It was so unfun to finish the game and if I hadn't found the secret grenade launcher I honestly don't think I would've had the strength to finish this game. The final boss would sometimes spawn in an area where I physically couldn't damage it, resulting in an instant death. Also, the game advertises a 12 hour adventure which is a flat out lie. A single playthrough is 3-4 hours MAX. Overall, Fossilfuel 2 is a game with a lot of potential, but it falls short in some really unfortunate ways. I can't recommend the game in it's current state and unless you can get it for $5 I wouldn't bother. If the developer did nothing else but properly optimize the game and get it running in an acceptable state at 60 fps I'd say it would be worth $10-15 but for now, just skip it. Fossilfuel 2 is the "highly anticipated" sequel (or at least that's what its store page says) and a game that was featured on Humble not too long ago in one of their most bizarre bundles yet, which is rather convenient since it too is not worth the asking price. Story-wise, both games take place in the same universe, but bear no connection to anything else: then again, the narrative is obviously not the games strongest suit. There's two things I disliked immediately: the abysmal performance that never seemed to get better (lowering Shadows all the way to Low grants you a bit of a framerate boost at the cost of butt-ugly visuals) and the fact the hardest difficulty needs to be unlocked by beating the game once, ugh. The game is running on UE5 and the assets used here offer some visual fidelity, but most of the environments are sterile looking corridors: budget cuts, I presume? Inventory management is less significant this time around since you start off with plenty of space to begin with and enemies actually react to being shot, mandatory stealth is done away with completely and bosses are slightly more challenging: while the sequel seems to go all out on the action bits leaving no trace of survival horror, it shows improvement in most areas. Major cutscenes can be skipped, achievements unlock as they should and there's free DLC content that I have yet to look into. I'm okay with the voice acting being less than serviceable, but why is the shotgun so pathetically weak against bosses to the point of dealing close to no damage whatsoever and why are there poison-spewing dinos that are HITSCAN?! These appear in one brief section, but the poison hitscan combo sounds like an absolute troll in game design and should not exist in any shape or form. Ultimately, you don't need high tolerance for jank to be able to enjoy something like this and the gameplay loop is competent, but it's a long way until something like this can be labeled as the "Dino Crisis sequel everyone's been waiting for".
Cannot tell if I liked the game or not. It has pretty good graphics and the actual mechanics are pretty good. Setting up turrets at the end and doing a bit of stealth at the start. However, I did find myself struggling with how VERY dark the game is even with max gamma and the flashlight. At one point I died because I got off a ladder at the top and just immediately died from...something. Also, some of the enemies are really bullet sponges and the rest went down with one hit. Again, I loved how scary and horrific the game was but was bogged down by the bugs. This game is a perfect "mid-tier" and I love it.
