About
Sky shards float above ruined Japan... and only Polpo, a jet-powered mech, can jump high enough to reach them.
Forza Polpo is a vertical first-person platform shooter set after the collapse. Leap from shattered rooftops, glide across broken bridges, skim silent beaches, and soar past dormant nuclear plants... then blast bizarre enemies before your energy runs out. Inspired by the cult classic Jumping Flash! it distills pure ’90s arcade energy into a fresh, fast experience.

• Pure vertical action... first-person jumps up to 300 ft and long glides
• Energy economy... every jump and shot drains the same meter, choose or fall
• Two modes... Simulation for resource crunch, Arcade for unlimited fun
• Speedrun-ready... tight levels, perfect on Steam Deck
• Vibrant PS1-style visuals... bright low-poly arenas and a banging ’90s soundtrack
Somewhere above the clouds a secret waits. Face the void... grab Forza Polpo and jump.

When games are at their best, they deliver pure, simple joy <3
polpo eats delicious yogurt pills and lives another day.
I really like the game, it has Jumping Flash vibes!!! If you like Jumping Flash, I recommended you play this game! Good: Gameplay: it's Smooth, Simple. Level Design: Each level has a different stage and collect items, and the stage full of Japanese design, really love it, it's gives me some Sakura feels. Control: it's easy to understand the control, jump and shoot, and triple jump. Bad:*Only One bad thing. If the game allows turn-off shaking and some damaging effect, it's helping me more comfortable to play. The last thing to say, Hope we see the game coming to PS5, I think most ppl will love to try it!

This loving tribute to Jumping Flash is extremely well-made and gives a thrilling experience through and through, with a sometimes almost insane sense of altitude. Unashamedly cute, the game knows its audience perfectly well, and its controls are largely intuitive and easy to understand. The level design is usually pretty clear as well, although there are a couple of stages where it gets a bit more confusing; these levels may take a few tries as you figure out what they're expecting from you. But most of the levels do a great job at leading the player where they need to go. My main criticisms of the game relate instead to issues of potential motion sickness. I am someone who doesn't get motion sick outside of extreme VR play, but there were quite a few moments where Forza Polpo made my head hurt and my stomach churn; my Twitch audience had a similar experience as well. I'd attribute this mostly to the fact that the HUD moves independently from the camera, sometimes shaking, sometimes following at a remarkable delay. Occasionally this can cause some definite vertigo. If options were added to keep the HUD locked in place and possibly to reduce screen shaking or flashing, I would recommend this game without any asterisks. For now, I still DO recommend the game, for sure -- but you may want to keep your sessions light and complete the game in several smaller chunks of play, especially if you suffer from motion sickness easily.
Forza Polpo is a mini-mech-toy focused first person shooter that feels heavily inspired by the PS1 game Jumping Flash. Shooting enemies is very cool & I like the enviromental music that usually plays via radios & the like. I've only played an hour of this game so far but have enjoyed my time with it, would be cool to see it get steam achievements. Play it.
inspired by Jumping Flash and Pilotwings . . . and it shows! if you like those games, or if you just like floating around cute weird little environments, play this. you shoot bouncy pink projectiles!
I probably should have known what I was getting in too when the game didn't explain the controls until you get into the first level...and then they layout shown in game is incorrect. It really is a sign of the level of detail the dev put into this.
Fantastic game! Gorgeous design and aesthetic. You might think the slight disconnect from the UI and camera (sort of like sway, but not really?!??!) might be disorienting, but it works so well. If you've played, and even enjoyed just slightly, Jumping Flash, this refines and nails that gameplay style to a tee and then some. You really can't go wrong with this, especially for the price. Its whole. Its fun. Old school meets new school in all the right ways.
the game crashed often on my hardware, a community fix worked, but even after that the game is obviously very unpolished
