Absolutely loved this game! Streamed the first section and we had a blast with the 90s feel through the old desktop, the dungeon crawling, the FMV type scenes. The gameplay is really fun as it adds in more jokers and mechanics and I loved the layouts of the cards reflecting the dungeon as you play through. Definitely recommend!
TL;DR Solitaire if it was good - Genuinely a good build on the solitaire game it's a fun gameplay loop. - Has a lot of soul in it: the voice actors cared, the writers cared, and the way you find out the story feels very satisfying - wIcked combo~

Everything about this game is unique and really well made. I love the art style, the gameplay is insanely fun, the sound effects are really satisfying and nice, the music is atmospheric and lends really well to the spooky feeling, the story is interesting and well done, and it's deeply replayable. I cannot recommend this game enough, it really deserves more attention.

I never thought I'd be addicted to a solitaire game. Seriously. Forbidden Solitaire takes one of the simplest card games ever made and somehow turns it into one of the most addictive horror games I've played in a long time. What hooked me first wasn't the gameplay—it was the presentation. The whole game feels like a cursed CD-ROM someone found buried in a box of old computer games from the mid-'90s. Grainy FMV videos, awkward live-action performances, low-resolution menus, eerie MIDI-style music... everything looks and feels like it came straight from the Windows 95 era, back when multimedia games were weird, experimental, and just a little unsettling. It immediately reminded me of the movie Brainscan, where a mysterious computer game slowly blurs the line between fiction and reality. It also gave me the same "I probably shouldn't have installed this" feeling as games like Inscryption and Blippo+, mixed with the unsettling charm of analog horror and "lost media." It feels less like you're playing a modern indie game and more like you've uncovered a forgotten piece of software that was never meant to leave the '90s. The gameplay is where it really surprised me. You're not just playing solitaire. Every chapter introduces new mechanics, enemies, upgrades, Jokers, relics, and twists that completely change how you approach every hand. Just when you think you've figured everything out, the game throws another clever idea at you. It would've been so easy to make "horror solitaire" a one-note gimmick, but instead it stays fresh the entire time. Every run had me saying, "Okay... one more." My only complaint? I want more. More bosses. More mechanics. More FMV. More secrets.
Have played through the game and got the good ending and I can say this game is awesome! Its so much fun and can get intense at times and even make you wonder about what's real and what isn't. The Creepy Pasta aspect only adds to the depth and fun of the game! Definitely a recommend for anyone that loves card games and creepy pasta!
I’m not a huge fan of solitaire, but the ‘90s PC horror game aesthetic made me intrigued. You play Forbidden Solitaire on a faux modern desktop OS and as you play there’s a side story happening simultaneously where your buddy is messaging you tidbits they find about its development. Apparently, the game was linked to a bunch of strange murders back in the ‘90s and was subsequently banned, but of course, it’s easily available to software pirates (and thus, you). There’s a creepypasta element to the story, and the solitaire gameplay is good as well, and it has Jokers with special powers kinda like Balatro and magical gems and whatnot. Same studio that made Home Safety Hotline, which is fantastic. Pretty short, I beat it in about eight hours.

Fun game, very addictive. It's Solitaire but you don't need to be an expert, it's even more important to play around with the perks, debuffs and jokers. The story is fun and interesting. I love the art style, too.
