For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Oozing with charm, lightly challenging, and the perfect length to fully explore both its story and mechanics. Forbidden Solitaire's gameplay consists of a series of discrete, hand-crafted solitaire puzzles. Some puzzles require you to clear all the cards on the table, whilst others are battles where you deal damage as you clear cards. New mechanics are added regularly as you progress, both extra obstacles/restrictions on the table cards, and utility "jokers" that you can play to manipulate the table cards in various ways. The "Cryptic CD ROM" serves as a setup for a fairly conventional, but well told horror tale. There's a nice balance between the story in the game and the story of the game. I've seen this game compared to Inscryption, and whilst the "Cursed Game" setup is similar, the focus is different. Inscryption leans heavily into meta commentary, whilst Forbidden Solitaire is more like a fun Goosebumps story. Music, art, and the acting in the FMV sections all capture a very specific 90s fantasy horror vibe perfectly. If you do pick this game up, I recommend reading the "making of" pdf that unlocks when you finish the game. A lot of creativity went into bringing this game to life with collaboration between two small indie studios.
A parting thought
I think the idea of "playing solitaire in a dungeon" has so much potential and would love to see it explored more. If the devs ever revisit this format, I think some light interaction in the dungeon screens between solitaire levels would be a great addition - something like a simplified version of the point & click puzzles from Shadowgate.
This makes solitare more of an intereing game...
i love solitaire
I gotta give them credit for being able to make a card game-based video game that feels not like a Balatro-clone but instead its own kinda game with a surreal style and narrative to it not unlike the dev team's prior game Home Safety Hotline. If you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with HSH, I don't really see why you wouldn't ♥♥♥♥ with this game too. Definitely a year-end list kinda game for me.
Been looking forward to this one! Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. As always with Night Signal, the aesthetic is weird and wonderful. I love the goopy, malformed creatures they cook up and the desktop menu is always so satisfying (Home Safety Hotline is one of my favorites). Made me remember how much I used to love Solitaire. Incredibly immersive, interesting narrative, solid gameplay. 10/10!
Great meta-narrative I think they did an amazing job telling a creepy story that keeps engaged throughout the whole experience, the diegetic interface felt really solid and the overall twists and different types of cards were fun for a while, my only complain is that the mid section of the game feels very grindy, to a point where I was struggling to continue for what is worth is a solid 9/10 in my books and would recommend to anyone who is looking to play something different
cute lil game
