For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. About
For Evelyn is an intriguing tale of love, betrayal, and the ultimate sacrifice.
The story takes us into the fantasy world of Aura, a place of magic and mysteries. It has been about 700 years since Arcanbreak, a cataclysmic event that changed the world forever.
You'll be playing as Yohanna, Evelyn's mother. She’s a strong-willed character, and throughout the game, she will realize how far she is willing to go to protect the ones she loves. With emotional backstories and a powerful, moving musical score, For Evelyn will draw the player in and refuse to let go.
For other game reviews, please follow us at What The Game?
For Evelyn is a title really centered around a story about a mother's love. When you start the game you'll be immediately introduced to a world of unfamiliar set of rules that a loving mother and daughter are caught up in. Unfamiliar with the formalities and structure of a daughter coming of age to being courted, Evelyn's mother struggles to see her little girl becoming a woman. It is also this mother's need to protect her daughter that fuels the fire that ignites her drive that drives the takeoff of the story. With this in mind, I would like to say that the story is pretty great in For Evelyn. It was an interesting breath of fresh air to see a story unfold this way. However cliche some elements may be, the story still has it's own soul to it that keeps it unique. Anyone who enjoys a story that will make you care about some of the characters, I feel there is a pretty good story here. After the story, I feel that quests are more-so the secondary driving point in For Evelyn. You'll see a handful of side quests that will move you around the world and seeing all of the areas, and you will see different quests instead of the typical RPG's fetch quests. You'll do various things from combat to QTEs, so they're pretty different from the norm. Combat seems like a pretty big afterthought in this title along with a leveling system. They are both present, but lack serious depth as more traditional RPGs would have. Ultimately, I feel that For Evelyn is indeed a good little game that will keep you busy for a few hours, but only just that. The game is pretty short, so don't go in expecting something like a Final Fantasy tale.

Sobre a Aparência: A aparência me remete a Ragnarok e Tree Of Savior.
I made this.
The game has a pretty good story, if not a little predictable. Despite this I still found it interesting and the characters very engaging. I wish there were more choices for the main story, and not just side quests having different outcomes, but hopefully that's something added in later entries. Of note: The game is STORY HEAVY. VERY STORY HEAVY. For someone like me, I loved it. But just be warned if you're not into that. The only bad thing is the game ends on a HUGE cliffhanger. Like...it seems like more will be coming, but then credits, and an after credits scene. I understand WHY it's like that but it's still a bit jarring. I'm hoping planned DLC kinda smooths out that roughness, though. The voice acting was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was perfectly cast. Like, no joke. The voices 100% matched how the characters looked and acted. I was surprised and just wish the entire game had voice overs (apparently the game was not 100% voice acted due to budget constraints). The combat is more or less the same from start to finish, with you using either magic, healing, or dodging attacks. There's little variety here. I found it serviceable, but not very engaging. Maybe if there were more elements to it, such as how to dodge, enemies being weak to certain magics, controlling your party members (you can only control the MC)...etc. It's the weakest point of the whole, but thankfully it doesn't take up a huge chunk of the game so it's easily overlooked. There is a note about the game being slightly rushed, with planned content coming, but it actually feels pretty damn polished. It's not perfect, but it's still highly enjoyable. Final thoughts? Excellent game from this dev. It feels polished but lacking in some regards. Not perfect, but still worth the time to play and experience this neat start to what feels like a much bigger story. Oh, and go check out https://store.steampowered.com/app/1402400/Arcanbreak/ It's a sort of prequel to the game that helps set the lore, but is NOT necessary to enjoy this game whatsoever.
The game is amazing the voice acting is really good. I can recommend this game. I would maybe add more directions in certain quests what to do but other then that its a gem!
For Evelyn is a beautiful and emotional story with amazing style. The pixel graphics and sprites are perfectly done. Overall the story is very captivating. Here are a few feedback notes for the Developer: There were a few times where I became frustrated with unclear tasks/objectives. There were a few glitches (I caught some NPCs walking through walls) but none of them effected the game-play. Some NPCs do clothing wise look out of place. While I understand that these were cameos, I do believe that the clothing could have been altered better to match the main cast. There were a few typo's in the dialogue. Here are some things to look forward to in game for players: Fun side-quests. Emotional and at times heartbreaking story points. Logical game-play. Stunning soundtrack. Amazing voice acting. Exploration. Cute pixel graphics. I look forward to more games from Kisuarts and the team! (Also I have played this game through twice and am going for a third soon because I like achievements. It doesn't take as long to play as my play time suggests).
Though I would recommend this game, only barely. The story is short, which is fine, but it's hard to really care about any of the characters outside of Yohanna. I do feel like they tried to put a lot more into the story than might've been worth for such a sort game. The UI and Items could've been worked on a bit longer. They are very out of place compared to the rest of the games art and graphics. Seemed rushed. Though the story and character's didn't really do it for me, I did enjoy the art and music of the game. The pixel backgrounds were phenomenal! And I very much did enjoy the little things in the game such as jokes and references.
Wonderful
Loved the story, loved the gameplay! The voice acting is incredible!
So I bought this game hoping it would be another Bleeding Moons or Space Pilgrim, which are some of my favorites, but it turned out to be a disappointment. If I didn't buy it at 80% discount, I would probably asking for a refund. It looked really interesting from the description and the story has a lot of potential, I was actually exited to see it unfold when the gameplay ruined everything. The main problem of the game is that the world is mostly not interactive, you walk around a lot with little purpose and the NPC are also mostly decorative. The puzzles are simple and they don't make up in charm, like in Space Pilgrim for example. I reached a point where I just got too bored walking around to continue playing, so this is a partial review. I'll update if I ever finish the game.
