Flock of the Seraphim in it's current state, although fully released, feels like it's still in early access. What's here is rather promising and the game has a great understanding of its personal aesthetics, but is lacking anything that really hooks you in and all in all feels rather bland after a few runs of gameplay. I hesitate to say Flock of the Seraphim is a bad game, but it feels a bit underdeveloped. No tutorial, no dialogue or story, just dropping you into its Vampire Survivors-like gameplay and expecting you to have fun when its quite jarring and takes you immediately out of the game. Everything feels slightly off, style is 100% prioritized over substance as there is very few actual levels and everything about the game is quite convoluted and confusing. I feel like this game needs bigger and better updates in the future to keep a consistent player base because right now it is really lacking in some sort of hook. I like this game, I like the idea of it more however. I hesitate to say it's a bad game, and I see myself playing it some more but unfortunately as just something to do with my hands as a video plays in the background. Realistically I'd give this a mixed review if given the option, and if one of my friends bought the game I wouldn't deter them. But, there are better religious inspired vampire survivor likes that released in the same month shockingly enough so I feel like Flock of the Seraphim will eventually fall to the wayside as sad as that makes me because there is an essence of something special here.

I've been partially watching development on this game ever since I saw a short on it and I'm very happy to see it fully released! I love my Rogulites and Vampire Survivors-like games are always simple yet fun. The art style is adorable and the music is great! There are a few things I would like to note though: Basic Arena runs are a bit too easy to complete and there's not much of a noticeable difficulty spike between the 3 Hazard Levels. Achievements are a bit too easy to get/There aren't enough challenging achievements. I've only got 4-ish hours in the game so far and I already have all but 4 achievements (and two of them aren't even that hard with killing 50k enemies and dying 5 times). Donation Box spawns are pretty scarce in The Club stage and nonexistent in Hell. This could be a design choice, but it makes coins pretty much useless in those stages. Enemies do tend to spawn in walls and get stuck on objects easily, and weirdly enough can't go down the stairs of The Club. It's a bit awkward not having an explosion Effect for the spider and that one legendary item (I forgot the name lol). Jumping is nice but feels unnecessary. It'd be cool if there was a stage that has islands/cracks or something so you have to jump to get around and dodge instead of walking. You could also add more enemies/bosses that give you reasons to jump (like bullet patterns, charged attacks, etc.) I wish there was some sort of Active ability unique to each character so you can have more of an impact on the game other than walking and choosing upgrades. On a similar note, it might be cool if there were Character specific upgrades/items. I also noticed a bug where if you unlock a skin on one character, it acts like that corresponding skin is unlocked if you click onto any other character. And for some reason they're all named Black Outfit except for the Default and White outfit. I feel like there's simply not enough Stages, Bosses, and Enemy variety. I wish there was a bit more lore and story! Doesn't matter if it's in the form of cutscenes or in logs similar to Risk of Rain/Risk of Rain 2 because I can aleady tell there's a lot of potential for a really good story! I'm sure there's more I'd like to say, but I currently can't think of anything at the moment. Regardless, I do like this game, and it has so much potential once there's a bit more polish and content. I can't wait to see what's next!
cute little survivors-like game I didn't know I needed. it's still not perfect and needs more polish, but already seems promising from what I've seen.
Unfortunately its just very bland. There are no 'Builds', just RNG to power up your weapon that you choose before you start. The Angles idea is neat, 4 (up to 6 with upgrades) little guys that hover around you and help shoot things, but they just end up being squandered. Infinite Ammo Rocket Launcher is just objectively the best and anything else is worthless in comparison. Only 3 stages too, but they're all so unbelievably buggy, besides the first one, which is just a flat open room. The other stages have some elevation, but that's actually a negative, because everything clips into everything, your camera, your character, enemies, upgrade boxes and upgrade crosses. The idea of this game is really neat, its just so .. not even poorly executed, just lazily executed.
mommy nun chibi my beloved 💓💓💓
Nuns purging demons in a gorgeous anime artstyle. What's not to love.
Found the dev on Instagram randomly last year and was instantly stoked. The artstyle is distinct and gorgeous, the "nuns shooting demons" concept is just fun, and the anime aesthetic hits a very specific gooneresque sweet spot without ever going overboard. It's spot on. The animations are a highlight: choppy in a way that feels modern and like a throwback at the same time. The stage and character designs are great too, genuinely full of charm. The OST is also a standout, it's got some legit bangers in it.
Gameplay
It's fun, not insanely fun, but solid, and worth the asking price. I'm not the biggest fan of the vampire-survivors genre in general, and this game is way too easy on top of that.
Flaws
Needs more polish and stability. Optimization isn't quite there, and I ran into a lot of enemies getting stuck in the floor or clipping into objects.

Still, get it. It's only a few bucks, and you can tell the dev poured a ton of effort and heart into this. The charm alone makes it worth it.
Is it the best bullethell I've played? No, definitely not the worst either. I think for a mere 10 sheckles it's a neat little game that is worth the price tag, though no game is without it's problems. -My main problem is how the enemies spawn. Call it skill-issue but I think just getting telefragged and having nothing you can do to prevent it isn't very fun. -I also wish there was a bit more enemy variety? When you play endless mode after you beat the boss it's just the same one enemy the rest of the way. -Other small things that i can look past too but it's fine Overall, I'd say it's a decent game but needs polished still. I'm really looking forward to seeing how well the game does and any updates to come. Love the artstyle and character designs. 7/10 - When writing this I haven't played all of the games content so if I have any more thoughts I'll be back.
Pretty much exactly what I want in a hoard shooter rouglike game. Also has a cute art style and plays smooth. 10/10 would recommend
Loving the game! Here's my feedback. -Sound effects for the guns should have more visceral oomph. Especially the shotguns. I wanna feelgood shootin em. -Add multiplayer. It would be awesome. -I don't use angels. The block my character's BUTT, which I am looking at at all times. -I'd like powerups that take angel slots, but aren't angels flying around with me. -add a booby slider - Maybe it's just me. But I'm using a controler, and opening "chests" or whateve is with E on the keyboard? I can't find a buton on my Xbox controller to do it and I have to run to the keyboard to open chests. -How defluk are you suppose to dodge the flying spear dudes? -Add a booby slider. I reccomend this game to people. -add a booby slider
