A game that suits both a casual audience and hardcore gamers, can be easily completed in a matter of hours depending on your skill level but also provides a lot of satisfaction for mastery of the simple mechanics. You should definitely try this one out!
★☆☆☆☆ Terrible!
Puzzle
Only 9 maps and they all play almost the same. Every level is an "endless survival" where you draw flight paths to color coded landing pads until a collision happens. It can be fun to strive for a new high score but it's something that is better suited to the mobile market and played between real life flights.

It is absolutely perfect for the iPhone and other touchscreen devices, but loses a little something when played with a mouse.

One of the best mobile games ever made continues to live on even after its digital death on the App Store
Before I purchased the superior AIRPORT MADNESS 4, I spent many happy hours on FLIGHT CONTROL HD. Indeed, I even had it on my PS3 as well. The premise is very simple - land coloured planes and helicopters onto their matching runways and helipads before a collision abruptly ends the game! Aircraft appear randomly from the edges of the screen - we are given a brief warning beforehand - and we click on them and then drag to create a flight path, usually ending at a runway. Once a plane lands it is removed from play and we gain a point on our scoreboard. The longer the game goes on, however, the more frequent the planes become and, as different coloured aircraft have numerous speeds (from slow moving helicopters to fast jets), things rapidly become very hectic! It is not possible to pause the game at any time to plan our moves but we may increase the game speed to hurry planes to their destinations if desired. When aircraft come within close contact a warning sounds and the game reverts back to its standard speed, although it is possible to over-ride this option at our own risk! There are 9 maps available of various difficulty but all generally play the same, although sometimes the runways shift position slightly to add variety while the randomness of the approaching aircraft ensures each run is unique. In my view the most fun level is the stunt one and this even has circus style music, too! The graphics are adequate for this type of simulation and the sprites are indeed larger than on AIRPORT MADNESS 4. Occasionally the animation slows down when lots of aircraft are on screen but this is only a small criticism. A repetitive soundtrack can be turned off but other effects (which bizarrely do not include aircraft engine noises!) cannot. There are 16 Achievements included and all are relatively easy to collect, although some grind is necessary to do so. FLIGHT CONTROL HD can prove very repetitive yet incredibly addictive even when all the Achievements are gained, as we strive to beat our current scores on each map. There are statistics for each one, too, stating things like the most planes landed, highest number of planes in the air at any one time and which type has crashed most often. Although this information is not essential to the game, I did find it interesting. For those wanting a simple aircraft game which is very easy to learn I would recommend buying FLIGHT CONTROL HD when discounted (as I did all those years ago) due to its vast age and the fact that similar titles offer so much more in the way of challenge - weather effects, for example.
