Reviews
In my ongoing and likely futile effort to write a Steam review for every game in my library (#257 out of 612)... it's time for Flame Over. Flame Over is a firefighting game loosely based on twin-stick shooters. The objective of each level is to put out the flames in order to rescue trapped civilians and lead them to the exit. On paper it seems like a great set-up for a simple, engaging action game. In practice... it doesn't quite click for me, for one very simple reason: you can't actually put any of the fires out. Not permanently, at least. The objective of the game is simply to carve a path through the flames to reach the next objective and that's it. There's no real feeling of progression, which is a shame, because methodically moving through a building, having to think tactically about which fires to put and and which ones to leave raging, seems like it could make for a really compelling gameplay experience. Oh well.
不是一般的難,這遊戲一點都不休閒.

A rather short game, but a quite challenging one. Putting out fires is a combination between using water and powder. Fires can spread very easily, but once you can buy the right power-ups in your run (RNG BOYZ), things get a little bit easier. The gas levels in the factory are horrible however and you'll not be able to save all people every run, since they get instakilled by fire at times. A little bit frustrating when it happens, but the fact that you can continue even though your time is up - and the reaper will come to get you - makes up for that little flaw. Don't expect too much from this game, it looks like a mobile game but it's good enough for a mere 15 hours of gameplay. Pick it up in a sale with over 80% off, then this game is very much RECOMMENDED!
Art style and music are great. Unfortunately the core game play is frustrating. Time is very short and the controls are fiddly. Carrying the remaining time between levels then restarting at the first level on a failed run with no progress felt bad. Also, it seems crazy to have an in-game merchant in a time attack game. Would be better to pause the timer when buying gear to give time to consider the options.
the flame is never over.
The music makes me hungry for DiBella subs.
Controls were kinda of janky at first, items do not describe their function, but I liked it well enough to play over 12 hrs (according to Steam, i don't know if it coutns time in pause menu) and beat it. I like the satisfactory feeling of methodically extinguishing all fires.
