Interesting story that lead to nothing
For me, I always rate games based on how I felt at the very end, and I just didn't feel that great about it in the end. I don't think the game really explored its themes that well. I don't think the story you actually play through really ties into the intro very well. I do appreciate that they let you turn off the arrow on the map that shows where you are, I played without the arrow and it was good, got lost a lot but that made the navigation part of the game more interesting.
it was awesome
I think everyone would like to escape from their usual life for a while and be completely alone, but still have the opportunity to talk to someone. That's what I would like to do. This is a story about Henry, who takes a job as a lookout on a tower to escape from his life. He clearly wants peace, but it turns out that this place has its own history. We also learn about the protagonist as he interacts with Delilah, a woman who has also chosen to escape from her own life. I like how the characters are revealed, even though we don't see them (only Henry's hands and feet, as the game is played from a first-person perspective). So, if you want to escape from everything for a few hours, but still immerse yourself in a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and not just relax with beautiful views (although there is enough of that, visually the game is very pleasant), go to the tower to work as a watchman!
Firewatching? Naw, I was nature-watching. Jokes aside, this is actually a really well-rounded, story-driven game. The characters are likeable, the humor enjoyable, the music pleasant. The views- wow, stunning! But I'm biased and love nature. It's definitely heavy on the walking- the whole game is just that: a walking stimulator, and relies on the ambience of the scenery, music and dialogue happening. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here though, but I know this isn't for everybody.
Was enjoying the game up until the main character blasphemes the name of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. I just do not understand why the writers could not have used any other word besides using the name of Jesus Christ as an expletive, why not use the false prophet Muhammad instead ?
