Firewatch

One of my favorite games ever.

J’ai vraiment passé un bon moment sur Firewatch. J’ai adoré l’ambiance, les paysages et surtout les échanges entre les personnages, qui rendent l’aventure beaucoup plus humaine et immersive. L’histoire m’a donné envie d’avancer jusqu’au bout pour comprendre ce qui se passait. Ce n’est pas un jeu très long, mais personnellement, je préfère une expérience courte et marquante comme celle-ci plutôt qu’un jeu qui traîne en longueur. Une très belle découverte que je recommande !

Feeling a bit down in the dumps? Maybe a retreat is exactly what you need! Good thing you, Henry, applied to fill in for a season and become a forest fire lookout! Now you won’t have to face the crushing reality that your wife has early-onset dementia. Can’t let that distract you though, the flirty and witty lookout in a different tower would hate it if you let this part of Wyoming burn down. This game is truly unforgettable. How tense you feel as you delve further and further into its story is unique in and of itself. It doesn’t become supernatural, nor does it ever go beyond the scope of what may be real. It stays grounded in a well known reality as Henry continues to learn what’s happening in the wilderness around him. It’s a short story overall, but the impact lasts so much longer. It truly feels as if you’re in his shoes, and the attachments to people/items/animals you make throughout the story feel very human. Score: 8.1/10

This game is one of my all-time favorites. The visuals, the music, and the story are all beautifully crafted. It's bittersweet that we won't get a sequel, but I can sleep peacefully knowing that the story is final, although maybe a bit teary eyed at the end. It is a relatively short game, I would wait for it to go on sale, but this is the only game I have played multiple times just to experience the story again. I wholeheartedly recommend this game.
