Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good game
Final Fantasy VI is a game I had been meaning to revisit for years, and I’m very glad I finally did. What surprised me most is how much this 1994 game still feels alive. Despite its age, it does not feel small. It creates a world filled with memorable characters, locations, music, and moments that are easy to connect with. The soundtrack is one of the biggest reasons the game remains so memorable, giving each character and place its own identity and emotion. The game quickly establishes its conflict: the Returners resisting against the Empire, Terra discovering her connection to the Espers, and the growing threat of an Empire built on conquest and destruction. The first half has a great sense of momentum as this group of very different people comes together against a common enemy. The highlight for me was Kefka, one of the most memorable villains in video game history (IMO). He is a maniacal, theatrical, completely unpredictable force who steals every scene he appears in. His iconic laugh, twisted humor, and cruel worldview make him impossible to ignore. Unlike many villains, Kefka does not simply threaten the world, he actually changes it. The heroes fail, the world is broken, and the second half becomes a journey about finding your friends again, rebuilding, and discovering what is worth fighting for. The greatest strength of Final Fantasy VI is its ensemble cast and its charm. There is no single character who carries the entire story; instead, everyone feels like they have their own reason for being there. Terra, Locke, Edgar, Sabin, Celes, Cyan, Shadow, and the rest of the cast all leave an impression. The expressive sprites and animations are simple but full of personality, and the game trusts the player to fill in some of the emotional details. Small interactions and moments communicate a surprising amount, allowing these characters to feel alive. One of the best examples of this charm is the opera scene, which remains one of the most memorable moments in the game. The Pixel Remaster does more than simply update it; the scene was fully remade with new presentation, making it feel like a true performance rather than just a nostalgic callback. Combined with the incredible music and the personalities of the characters involved, it shows the creativity and ambition that runs throughout the entire game. The final dungeon was an epic conclusion to the journey. It was challenging enough that it made me rethink my party composition and approach, but that difficulty helped make the ending feel meaningful. Having three groups of four characters working their way through Kefka’s Tower was a great way to bring the entire cast together and reinforce that this was not just one hero’s story, but the story of everyone who had joined the fight. Reaching the end with the full party represented made the final battle feel like a true all-stakes confrontation. From the incredible music to the scale of the encounter, the fight against Kefka felt like the culmination of everything the game had built toward: the fate of the world resting on this final battle. The quality-of-life features (autorun, auto save, 4x XP/Gill, random battle toggle, etc...) were excellent and made the experience smooth allowing me to focus on the heart of the game: the story, exploration, music, and characters. Coming back to Final Fantasy VI decades later was a reminder of why certain games endure. I no longer play games the way I did when I was younger, but this game still managed to pull me in completely. Each Final Fantasy tells its own story in its own way, and VI is no exception. After finishing it, I was left with a memorable journey, unforgettable characters, and moments that will stay with me long after the credit roll. Highly Recommended!
Classic
An excellent SNES remake with content missing from later versions. Overall it's the same excellent FF game we all know and love. (And the second best 2D FF game.) I wish it had some of the content from later versions and some of the QoL features made it easier than earlier versions as well. (Sabin's combo for instance)
This is a light recommend, at this point. I think that story is okay so far, passingly interesting, and some of the characters are compelling (the main villain thus far for sure, genuinely unlikeable), The gameplay is what it is - it's dated, generally simple, and pretty easy all in all. I'll finish it, because I've gotten this far in, but I am not sure I am that bothered about knowing what comes next. I picked this up after playing through FFVII for the first time, and so far it isn't a patch on that. I'll update this review if my opinion changes the deeper into the game I get.
Un super FF, même de nos jours pour ceux qui aiment jouer rétro
Kefka pleaseeee let me hit idc if you're destroying the world pleeeasseee
