Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.67/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 10: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I highly recommend no one buys this version of the game. My save data gets nuked every single time I try to play. Not worth the time or effort to keep playing. The only way to fix this is to completely turn off cloud sync and look after your save data like the good ol' days. Extremely annoying and unacceptable.
Final Fantasy III (3D Remake) is a turn-based JRPG built around the Warriors of Light, elemental crystals, and the job system that lets your party change classes throughout the adventure. This version gives the four playable characters names, designs, and more personality than the original release, while keeping the core structure of exploring towns and dungeons, unlocking jobs, and building a party that can handle whatever the next area throws at you. Pros ✔️ The playable characters have more personality - Giving the party names, designs, and a bit more character helps this version feel less blank compared to the original setup. ✔️ The 3D art style holds up better than expected - It has a stylized look that still feels playable today instead of looking painfully dated. ✔️ This is my favourite version to play through - Of the versions available, this one felt the best for me overall, especially with the added character identity and 3D presentation. Cons ❌ The Pixel Remaster has some better quality-of-life features - The Pixel Remaster soundtrack and updates are not really here in the same way, unless you start getting creative with mods. ❌ The PC port and launcher are a bit rough at times - The launcher is not great to use, and I found it was either the game running smoothly or the opening video working properly, but apparently never both. ❌ The main villain is weak - The actual villain is so forgettable that everyone treats the Cloud of Darkness as the big bad instead, even though she only really shows up when you fight her. Conclusion I enjoyed this version and with some creative modding, I was able to pull in a few things I liked from the Pixel Remaster, which helped, but it also made me miss the quality pixel art from that version. This is still my favourite way to play Final Fantasy III, even if I can see where other versions do certain things better. It sits in a weird middle place for me - the version I like most overall, but not the one that wins every category. Score 7.5/10 Onion Knights - My favourite way to play Final Fantasy III, even if a few other versions have better tools.
小时候被窝里用手机玩,长大了补票在电脑上玩
Absolutely adorable game, but an equally rough experience. This would be a huge MIXED Review if Steam had that. Overall, it's kinda nice so I'll hesitantly give it a thumbs up. Quick Play doesn't function in a helpful way that you might be used to from more recent ports/remasters and I can tell that this is one of the first ever executions of the "Auto-Combat" feature, because it is designed atrociously. Even with attempts to make use of it, the grinding can feel glacially slow. I really dislike JRPG's where you're not prepared to beat a boss by just fighting everything in the world and dungeons leading up to them. Then, this is the only Final Fantasy I've played where you can literally never buy Phoenix Downs, they are a completely limited supply, found through explorations. This can make for some fun resource management, until you've ran out of them, at which point you won't be happy at all. The limited magic casting system is a drag on the design and it's no wonder that they never do this again after this game, as it just doesn't make sense being forced to not use your spells until you've reached the boss, making casters feel redundant, yet still mandatory. The job system in general is held back greatly by the fact that you really do want to always have a White Mage around, you really do always want to have something like a Black Mage around, etc. - and then some bosses are straight up just "bring 3 to 4 Dragoons or get slimed on". Not even the presentation is without issue; it wants to convey a troubled and doomed world but the game itself comes across as very charming and happy, which might be just from the 3D remake's aesthetics, though I think it's an interesting idea - a light hearted presentation of the "doom and gloom" narrative. The finale is probably the craziest, steepest grind-check I've seen in any JRPG that I've played so far, it is just nuts. Jobs system is probably my favorite thing in the FF series and it's always pleasant to play around with it, even in it's most troubled form.
Currently a music/sound effect bug that will pretty much ruin the immersion of the game. Can't be resolved on Windows 11 currently. If you want to experience FFIII, go get the Pixel Remaster instead of this one.
The 3D remake of Final Fantasy 3 is a great, challenging, visually stunning (for the Nintendo DS) video game that actually outright DOES NOT BOOT UP on Steam if your system is modern enough. If you can somehow find/afford the original DS cartridge, definitely play that version (or take to the high seas). But don't waste your money on the Steam port unless you have a surefire way to make the executable actually turn on in the first place. If you're into older, moderately stricter RPGs, and again, your operating system can RUN THE EXECUTABLE, then definitely give this game a shot. I can't really recommend the FF3 Pixel Remaster to anyone looking for a game with story... or characters... or dialogue that matters outside of "go to [PLACE] and get [ITEM]," but I also can't recommend the FF3 3D Remake on Steam because Square Enix doesn't seem to want people to play the game they're selling. Square Enix, I know for a fact you'll never see this, but on the off chance somebody with the influence at the company glances at this review, please update the FF3 3D Remake so that it actually functions on newer systems.
Final Fantasy III (3D Remake) is a solid remake that brings the original game into a more modern style while keeping its classic RPG roots intact. The gameplay still centers around the job system, which is one of the best parts of the game. Being able to switch classes and experiment with different setups adds some variety, even if it doesn’t always feel perfectly balanced. The 3D visuals and updated presentation make the game feel more alive compared to the original. Characters have more personality, and the overall experience feels more polished. However, the game can be difficult and grind-heavy at times. Some sections feel unbalanced, which can slow down the pacing and make progression frustrating. Overall, Final Fantasy III (3D Remake) is a decent way to experience the game with updated visuals, but its issues hold it back a bit. Gameplay: 6/10 Fine | Overall: 7.5/10 Good
7/10 In general, the experience is way more fulfilling than the Pixel Remaster one, simply because the characters now have more depth and that makes them more likeable to me — don't expect anything incredible, though. My real problem with this one is that it seems and plays like a cheap game, like a poorly done port, and I know that a lot of talented people had their way on this title and worked hard to bring it to the general public, but I can't simply shake the feeling off, sadly. One thing that really stuck with me is the idea that the game just wants you to lose time playing it, like REALLY lose time on it, be grinding or just chasing achievements like crazy because there are ones that if you miss out you better pray that you have some second save there or you'll just have to play a second time entirely. When doing the achievements for the 3D Remake, I felt like I was just wasting time: had to farm around a lot of levels in the worst way possible to get the jobs done, and then do the superboss, and then play against the RNG to find the forger girl or whatever she is to get my weapons and finish that too. The main story is cool, and you can have a lot of fun with it, but when you have to do the rest, the experience in general just goes down and down. If I could give it a "Mixed" review, I would've, but I can't, so I'll leave it at positive right now because I like this version better in comparison to the Pixel Remaster one. If I were going to play Final Fantasy III today and had to choose between one of the versions, I would pick this one.
