Nice fighting fix on my Steam deck, really enjoyed playing so far, the AI is challenging. There is a funny story for each character which has made me giggle a few times. Seems it likes to poke bit of fun at pop culture.
Fight'n'Jokes is a game coming directly from 1997, but finally with online rollback netcode (which now works flawlessy after the first week's fix) and some quality of life improvements. The gameplay is exactly the same, and so is the balance - which means that some characters have access to the same infinites and some supers deal 75% damage on hit - but this is unmistakably part of its charm. The game is chock full of references to the original Dragon Ball, Street Fighter and Tekken. Its sprites are polished and the animations still wonderful 25 years later. It's unlikely the damage is going to be patched or modified, but this is how this game should be taken: as a time capsule of 1997, with its quirks and crazy stuff - less focused on balance and more on making something cool. The only thing that might be a little annoying, at least for me, was that Arcade Mode has a limited amount of continues: You are booted out after 3 Game Overs and have to start again, but overall it's a minor flaw (for the characters I'm not good with, I've simply played at Super Easy instead of Normal). However, unlimited continues is a small QoL I'd gladly ask for. P.S.: the game has four unlockable characters, bringing the total to 12. Play Story mode to find them ;)

A great time for casuals and pros alike, boasting a easy to learn hard to master roster. Charming, cute, and overall fun!
Pretty good and fun game! Dev's did a great job on the porting. Had hours of fun and a trip down nostalgia lane. I loved that this game gives a nod to games from the 80's and 90's. Think Ghost n Goblins, Street fighter (specially SF Alpha) and maybe that movie 'Spaceballs'?? Afew other reviews mention that there is abit of a learning curve with this game, and I also found the same. But if you're familiar with Street Fighter II then you'll figure it out easy enough. Lots of game options to play and mess around with. I still have quite afew characters to figure out and even still trying to figure out the special moves (found a 16 hit combo is possible!). There's some hidden characters to unlock, which will be super fun to achieve. Hours of fun to be had here, I recommend this game highly if you're into fighters. kick ass sound track too. Not so crazy repetitive beep beeps like other games from the same era. The only down side for me was the visuals at first. Was hard on the eyes and im not use to this old school pixel stuff anymore. But that said, i've been smashing it out on a UHD 28" monitor and probably too close. I did see a tab mentioning that 'shaders' were on the way which might help these old eyes of mine. Overall, rate the game as a decent fun filler fighter. Grab the game, a controller and get into it for hours of fun.
I love FNJ on my Series X - ever since its initial release - and so I wanted to give this Steam version a try as soon as I had the chance. Well, I'm happy to report that the game on PC seems to run great and some upcoming extra features already make me want to see them on console as soon as possible (mmm shaders...). FNJ is probably my favourite indie fg to date. I simply cannot think of another similar title that - underneath its simplified mechanics and 3-button-based control scheme - boasts such a solid gameplay and compelling roster, ending up playing like a legit arcade classic, rather than a clumsy attempt to mimic modern and much more layered experiences. Unable to pick a single negative from FNJ, I recommend it to anyone is looking for a dose of nostalgia as well as an exciting fighting game with a burning '90s soul.
Great game. Simple but funny joking around 2D old school syle side scroll game which we don't need complicated commands in order to make actions.
Even though I'm not typically a fighting games player, I absolutely love playing this one. It can get quite competitive, especially if you play it with someone online. The pixel art style is very cute and colorful, and the characters are funny and endearing, even when they are mercilessly kicking each other's butts. Each stage is unique, and its soundtrack can easily get stuck in your head for hours!
Super jeu !
