Fields of Mistria

Fields of Mistria is so much more - not your average "another farming sim"-game. I enjoyed playing through the early acess content and am stooooked to see the full release in August. Over the time in early acess, devs listened to the playerbase and really made a heartwarming, cozy, all you could ask for game. It features quirky, lovely, cute, funny, unique characters and the utmost flexibility on how to keep your farm. The little magic elements are not at all overwhelming and very intuitive. There is little to no artificial slowdown or unnessecary locks in the game. The quests feel reasonable and doable without being too easy. (nothing like: how the FLUFF should I get 1000 wood NOW Madame Townsmanager?!) Feels very put together, really enjoyable, I highly recommend!

Things I love about this game: + The variety of animals and coats they can have + Decorations are cute and there's lots of them (not *only* cute as well) + Different activities and tools related to them, like cooking is it's own skill, as well as ranching and woodworking + Dating mechanics are adorable Things I don't like: - Mining and mines are too important for the main plot of the game. What was worse, mining and reaching the bottom was the needed in order to get married. Why?! - The main story was not for me in general. - Most characters don't have cutscenes and you don't really get to know them that well. - On the same note, date/marriage options are written... well, not equal. Some get a lot of attention and you get to know their background etc. while others have very little personal info about them. I don't choose based on looks in these kinds of games, so it's WAY harder to figure out who I would actually like based on their heart scenes. - I get stuck on items or edges of land often. In order to move away, either jumping or turning or both are needed to "unstuck"

Stardew valley but more whimsy and aesthetic. more pastel and cutsey colour pallet, cuter animations. loving the gameplay, better than SDV overall so if you enjoy that game you'll LOVE this.

This game might appear as a Stardew clone, but it is a very immersive farming sim full of magic and adventure, and has a lot that sets it apart from other games in the genre. From the very first day, the game makes the player feel like an actual villager of Mistria, with rich and interesting dialogue that keeps gameplay fresh. There is something to do every single day, from filling the museum bundles, to regular farming, to unlocking the mines, to completing story and minor quests. There's honestly nothing I can think of that I dislike about this game; it's cozy and relaxing with great music and a story that I'm always itching to get deeper into. Highly recommend!
