Reviews
FEED IT is the kind of horror game that understands the difference between being scared and feeling genuinely unsafe. From a techincal point of view, the classic PSX-esque look is well exploited. The low-poly geometry allows to go into a more crude detail, oppressive lighting and limited visual clarity never feel like nostalgia for nostalgia's sake. Rooms are just readable enough to navigate, but never clean enough to feel trustworthy. The sound design might be even more important. The television, the ambient noise, the creature's footsteps (OH BOY), grunts and sudden changes in the soundscape constantly give you information without ever giving you reassurance. Headphones are absolutely the way to play this. There are moments where nothing is visibly happening and yet the audio alone convinces you that something, somewhere, is about to brutally hit you. FEED IT also nails it and manages to avoid the “monster is chasing you” horror cliché. Yes, ok, we can all agree being pursued is terrifying. Yes, I admit I HAD to turn around when Mr Bacon was breathing and grunting down my neck, BUT... the game is at its best long before anything starts running after you. There is a persistent feeling that something is fundamentally wrong with the reality you are occupying. The monster is the obvious threat, but after a while it almost feels like the monster is only one visible symptom of something much larger. There is an intelligence behind the structure of the experience, or at least FEED IT is extremely good at making you believe there is. Something seems to be arranging events, manipulating spaces, observing your decisions and quietly waiting for you to understand a set of rules that may never have existed in the first place. It creates this extraordinary sense of a "De(mon)us ex machina": some malignant presence already inside the machine, operating behind the scenery, moving things when you aren't looking, rewriting the logic of the world. And, last but not least, it allows you to believe you still have agency while subtly suggesting that every possible choice may already belong to it. That feeling produces a much deeper anxiety than any jumpscare could. Even the central mechanic of deciding what to do with the food is deceptively simple! Mechanically, the choice is immediately understandable. Psychologically, however, it becomes increasingly (and unexpectedly) uncomfortable. Great psychological horror, abso-f♥king-lutely unsettling in all the best ways. FEED IT. NOW!

Strong PSX vibes, deep narrative and powerful scenery!
Feed It is a short but intense narrative experience with multiple endings that talks about sensitive themes in a very interesting way. The thing I liked the most is definitely how the game environment distorts and molds itself around the gameplay events, becoming the true protagonist of the game, and generally the metaphorical representation of the corrupt relationship between the player and the pig. I found the visual filter a bit too dark (easily adjustable in the settings) and a couple of sections not perfectly focused, but overall the game is definitely worth playing. Feed It is obviously not for everyone given the themes it tackles and the strong sense of anxiety it manages to convey, but its greatest value lies in its uncompromising authorship.
Plots like this with abuse can be done in a very impacting way but the whole premise of this is really cheap. Like others mentioned its some poor thought out chase sequences with the pig just jumping out of nowhere. Multiple endings but couldn't see the point in playing based on the premise alone being summarized in one playthrough. Could have more engaging interactions with decisions based on how someone who still feed themselves scraps while under some sort of influence but hardly has any impact at all once you decide to eat. 2/10 - less than an hour while just exploring the first run.
Монстра хотя бы изысканными блюдами кормят (как минимум в начале). Разработчики же предпочитают кормить каким-то говном.
Atmospheric, creepy game. Story is well-done if on the nose.
Hard to think of much else to say other than wow. This is a truly heart wrenching experience to play through. $6 is a steal for the kind of game that shines a light on abusive relationships in such an effective way. The game is deceptively simple, with a lot to dissect for players who are willing to fully engage with the story. Also, the nod to Horses was unexpected. I highly recommend playing that one as well once you've fully explored the oppressive world of FEED IT. This one will stick with me for a very long time.
The game was good! short game that will get a reaction within the first 20 seconds of playing.
A very short, yet incredibly well-made indie horror game. The trailer gives you just a glimpse of the interesting set pieces and genuinely intimidating sequences in this game. Even if you're not fond of the admittedly heavy-handed metaphors and strong themes in the game (which I actually quite liked, myself), the game itself is worth experiencing simply because it's a little different to the others. It reeks of effort.
Tons of little things to notice - my one criticism is, I just wish I had a little more time to take it all in because I had to start running!
Creating this game really meant something to its author, and that counts for a lot by itself. Check this game out, it's well worth the price tag.
