About

Take on the role of a skilled hunter in Faeland, an adventure RPG set in a beautiful world inspired by 8-bit classics.
Traverse through the expansive world of Faeland, making your way through forests, caves, dungeons and castles. As you unlock new abilities, revisit old haunts to explore previously inaccessible areas hiding deep secrets. Along the way, you will create enemies and make friends. You will be equipped with a full arsenal of weapons, but choose carefully as your choice will impact your combat speed and strengths.

Humans have established their kingdom through centuries of peace efforts, maintaining a safe boundary away from the dark forces of magic and monstrous beasts that lurk just beyond civilization. In a secluded forest, a young hunter’s life is forever changed when their home is raided by a horde of trolls and orcs. Forced to flee with little more than their courage, the hunter embarks on a journey to find safety.
But as their path unfolds, it becomes clear that a far greater threat looms over the realm. In a world teetering on the edge of chaos, the hunter must rise to become the hero destiny demands. With danger at every turn, their choices and actions will shape the fate of all who call this land home.

In Faeland, you can freely explore the open world, traveling from one town to another, talk to friendly NPCs, learn about the game’s lore and get useful tips, commerce valuable items to improve your economics, buy new equipment and consumables and take on quests to acquire useful loot while progressing in the main story. Some of the areas you need to traverse are challenging forests, caves, dungeons, castles and more. You also have to acquire new abilities and special items to gain access to previously inaccessible areas and paths. The combat style is customized through your equipped weapons, choose from knives, daggers, swords, axes, spears and bows, all with different attack animations, speeds, strengths and effects.

Diverse Arsenal. Choose from a wide range of weapons, all of which impact attack animation, speed, strengths, and effects.
Skill Scrolls. Acquire new abilities throughout your journey by receiving scrolls via exploration or as a reward for solving heroic quests.
Impactful Customization. Create your character, then show off your shiny new gear while also benefiting from the added strength and protection of different tunics and clothing gear, shields, gadgets, weapons and mythical tools that will support you in your journey.
Classic-Inspired Pixel Graphics. Detailed and handmade pixel art animations and environments in an "enhanced 16-Bit" expose wide color palettes, widescreen resolutions and fluid animations resulting in a contemporary and appealing art style.

This is a really fun one. A great mix of Zelda and Metroid qualities with a little bit of Dark Souls details wrapped in. The fact that the Dodge Roll is a Metroid-style progression mechanic that you unlock early on is very funny to me. The maps are HUGE! There is so much to find and explore. The devs clearly prioritized tight, fun combat and satisfying exploration/puzzles. I only just got past the first dungeon (the one about solving the town's poisoned water supply) and I'm hooked. What they DID NOT prioritize was the script. The writing has a very "first draft" quality and all dialogue is pretty bare bones and bland. It works fine, you're not here for the dialogue anyway. But if they get more time/funds, this could really do with a professional editing pass. It would take this from Great to Wonderful. I still highly suggest people play this, its very fun.
The game had immense potential—it was fun, had just the right level of difficulty, offered various customization options, and featured cool pixel art. However, it was in Early Access and the developer was constantly updating it when they announced the 1.0 update—which they claimed was already complete—only to cancel the release date, stating they needed more time to launch on other platforms. Now, over a year has passed without a single update, and I’m starting to suspect we’ve been scammed. It’s a shame when a great game gets abandoned due to greed. I really don't recommend it until the game is finally released.

PROS This game feels like what would have emerged from Nintendo if Shigeru Miyamoto and his team had made Zelda: The Adventure of Link in the modern day. The Adventure of Link itself borrowed heavily from Castlevania in its decision to adopt platforming and side-scrolling battle scenes, and Faeland wears its Metroidvania pedigree proudly on its sleeve. The mechanics are stripped back, the exploration is happy to leave your hand thoroughly un-held, and the animation is smooth as butter sliding off an oven-warmed plate. CONS The dialogue and writing perhaps leans into the cliche, and certainly features its fair share of unpolished jankiness. The simplicity of the story and the classic, no-frills high-fantasy setting are oddly refreshing, though, in an era dominated by terminally self-aware, self-effacing narratives desperate to prove they're "in on the joke".
While the full version is still unreleased, I had a blast playing through this beautiful game. The boss fights were unique, the metroidvania style treasure hunting was fun. I'm still having trouble with swimming under the falls and gathering the last treasures of this release, but I can't wait until the full release with all the fixes and expansions.
I played through it and I liked it, when is the REST of the game going to be finished? Talk about a cliff hanger, some places in the game i couldn't access and I would like that to change please and thank you. GOOD SO FAR 19.99, I'd like to get my money's worth for this game that has so much potential.
LA POLLA CON CEBOLLA! I'm enjoying this game so much, Please keep the game same way it feels. Do not change anything!
if the only solution is to shame the game to have it released, let's go...
A gorgeous pixel art action-adventure that channels classic SNES vibes. The exploration is rewarding, the combat is snappy, and the world is packed with secrets to discover. The pixel art is seriously some of the best I have seen - every screen looks like a painting. If you love old-school action-adventure games like Zelda or Wonder Boy, this is absolutely worth your time. Support indie devs making beautiful games like this.
