Exovoid Carnage

This is pretty intense and it's got some great action, good variety of arenas, I want to get back in after every run.

I am so here for this trend of arcadey first-person shooters that I can play on my lunchbreak, and Exovoid Carnage is a great addition to this collection. Exovoid Carnage mixes the arcade style dodging of Doom with the over-the-top 90s panache of Smash TV, complete with its own haughty announcer. I love the fast pacing in particular - the game is nonstop fights in one cool arena setpiece after another, and does a fantastic job of trimming out unnecessary downtime. Clear one room and you get launched right into the next one. Die (which you will, a lot) and you wake up at the beginning, right back at it with a better damage multiplier. The arenas are ordered randomly so it's like a shuffle playlist of arcade FPS firefights, and it's always a treat to get pulled into an arena you haven't seen before when you are on a good run.

A great take on the classic arena shooter. Frenetic action with great particle and environment effects. Randomized level order keeps each run fresh, and stackable powerups lead to some insane levels of destruction and absurd amounts of alien goop. Highly recommended! :)
