For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. It's the Dakar rally in space, what's not to like?
A fantastically interesting idea, and a genuinely unique take on racing. 100 out of 10 for having the guts to pursue this dream, devs! Sadly, you don't seem to understand physics. At all. Driving these milkfloats is a nightmare, as the way gravity and friction are modelled is so removed from any reality, that it renders the game viscerally unpleasant to play. Add to this what has to be the most unclear, unintuitive, poorly thought out style of checkpoints I can even conceive of, and this is just horrific. If you can reign in your physics engine, and make it resemble reality at any level, this would be excellent. Right now, it is a chore, as the 'vehicles' simply do no behave in a logical way.

I'm falling in love with this game. I love off road racing, and the space setting only makes it better and more challenging. You can feel the difference in driving over gravel, sand, hard rock and shallow water. The story and characters are interesting too, but not the main focus of the game. One of the interesting mechanics is the use of RCS thrusters, that allow you to control your vehicle while in mid air. It takes some tries to get the hang of them, but once you do they are really fun. Other fun mechanics include air leaks that can be fatal in toxic atmospheres, falling micro-meteors and earthquakes. The game runs ootb in Linux via Proton. It should run in a Steamdeck too.
This game provides a driving experience like no other. It's not without a few minor flaws, but nothing else feels and plays like XRC. Worth mentioning is the huge replayability the game offers--between the track editor and the procedural daily/weekly races, you'll never get bored running the same stages over and over.
Unbelievably difficult, unbelievably satisfying. The driving experience this game offers is unlike anything I've ever played. The physics aim for absolute realism, so this may put off more casual players, but when the game finally "clicks", and you understand how to intertwine the driving controls with the RCS controls, it honestly feels like heaven. Or meth. The constant risk/reward balance of pushing the rover to its absolute limit while bracing for slightest, rally-ending mistake will put your brain into overdrive. It's extremely addicting, and I can't recommend it enough. A few QOL and optimization issues have been ironed out by the devs, who patch the game regularily (having a direct line of comms to the dev team through their discord is greatly appreciated). Game runs great
This is a great game, but ♥♥♥♥ whoever is responsible for designing Tensei. None of the tires give traction on ice because apparently humanity's collective knowledge of putting studs in rubber regresses over the next 80 years and there are NO snow/ice tire options in this game. It is completely miserable to race on, and no it's not a difficulty problem, I have won every single one of my races on Tensei and there are zero problems with any of the other environments. Tensei is just not fun, which is really disappointing because it throws a big wrench into what is otherwise a really great game. This is another title that makes me wish there was a middling option for the reviews. I'm marking this as not recommended so it's more visible, but I enjoy most of the game. I'm just not thrilled that I have to continue driving on this POS planet just to progress.
This game deserves more exposion. Best to describe it as a Dakar space rally. The setting is a bit sci-fi space but don't let that fool you, there is a pretty harcore rally game beneath the hood. From how it uses traction and weight transfer, to how it handles the terrain and the car physics is deeply satisfying. Campain events uses rally like stages to repair, tinker and switch tyres with time credits that you can spend on said adjustments. The tracks itself uses light markers as checkpoints. You can go in casual and just use the checkpoint markers or you can go deeper and pre plan the whole track with a drone, lay down your perfect racing line to follow and avoid dangerous terrain, which is pretty awsome. It's been a long time since i had such a blast with a racing game. Shoutout to the devs for making a awsome niche game with so much attention to detail
I used to love racing games, but got bored 20 years ago when the only new content was the latest years cars - there is only so much you can do to keep realistic racing games fresh. This game gave me the same feeling Colin McRae Rally gave me all those years ago - the physics, the grit and the addictive nature of the way the cars handle and react to the environment. Unlike a traditional racing game, the wide open off-road nature means there is so much scope to improve your time as the best line is not always obvious. The ability to survey and plan your route and add notes is very cool, giving you a taste of being real rally navigator. The gradual work up from basic UTV to the EXO6 (6x6) class rover eases you into the new mechanics of low gravity and RCS (small rockets that can be used to alter the orientation of the rover despite tire traction) and you feel like a badass managing RCS fuel, speed and damage when you start to master the RCS controls to take risker lines. Exo Rally overcomes the the limits of oversteer, understeer and downforce in a physically accurate way - and it's addictive! This game a true innovation within the racing genre.
Exo Rally championship is, in short, a great game on all fronts. Graphics, physics, controls, customization, and it's entire feel is absolutely star studded. The story is limited but charming, and the characters develop some personality over the hours. I will say that it is no easy game. All the time, you need to be able to plan ahead, react without thinking, and at all cost keep your foot down. In higher difficulties, you have to be able to drive on the bleeding edge of throttle, breaks, thrusters, traction, damage, and speed to achieve victory. If you are looking for a truly challenging racing game, I would say to go here. I don't mean to say its not a fun game, it is fun and very rewarding. But it will be difficult.
This game is excellent, really nice physics, tuning and gameplay loop. Scratches the Dakar/Baja rally itch better than the official games, and the RCS thrusters are a really neat addition to the racing genre. If I had to think of criticisms it'd be 1. No triple monitor support - this would be lovely but hardly a dealbreaker 2. An RCS assist mode would be really nice QoL feature for those playing on wheel, the cars get so insanely fast after around 2 hours of gameplay and controlling the RCS with joysticks on a wheel is very tricky. Almost need a flight stick to help hahaha
