About
Almost five hundred years of history unfold before you in Europa Universalis V, the latest version of one of the greatest strategy games of all time. Guide the destiny of any of hundreds of nations and societies in a simulated living world of unparalleled depth and complexity.
Europa Universalis V builds on the franchise’s core concept of developing and advancing nations from around a deeply researched historical world, adding more detailed diplomacy, a more sophisticated economic model, a revised military system and greater logistical depth that will challenge even the most experienced strategy gamers.
RULE a land of your choosing. Hundreds of nations are yours to command, as you guide the destiny of millions of people through the late Middle Ages up to the Age of Revolution - from the mighty Yuán Dynasty to the city-states of Italy, from the warring clans of feudal Japan to the Pope himself.
DECIDE which course your nation will take. Historical events and situations await as you chart a unique path through a new history written by your decisions. Experience The Hundred Years’ War, the Protestant Reformation, the collapse of old dynasties and rise of new ones.
EXPLORE alternate histories as you shape the world to meet your ambitions. What if England succeeded in pressing its continental claims? What if China pursued an overseas empire? What if Mongol supremacy in Russia persisted? Every action opens the possibility for an original history.
IMPOSE domestic peace in a divided realm. Keep your nation’s factions in line as Estates jockey for power in your nation. Offer privileges to one group of citizens while you limit the power of another, all in the service of keeping your population under control.
NEGOTIATE your way through an uneasy peace. Use diplomacy to entrench your dynasty across realms or build an invincible alliance. But remember that nations have no permanent friends - only permanent interests; so use your ambassadors carefully. Exact favors from friends, send threats to enemies, and keep an eye on everyone in-between.
CONQUER new lands to expand your borders. Wage War on those who impede your ambition in a completely new Europa Universalis military system. Start in the age of levies and mercenaries and, through social development, evolve to vast standing armies and impenetrable fortresses. Choose skilled commanders to oversee both land and naval forces.
BUILD a strong economic infrastructure in the most detailed trade system yet seen in a Europa Universalis game. Dozens of goods and crops are available for production and trade on a map filled with new riches to discover. Invest in feeding a growing population or trade your surplus to less bountiful societies.
MOLD your society to meet the historical moment. Choose your societal values, with new options opening as the ages move on. Centralize power at court or share it with your nobles. Pursue a tolerant policy for all faiths or condemn heretics. Emphasize massed armies or an elite cadre of quality soldiers.
GOVERN a nation composed of many cultures and faiths in a detailed simulation of the past. For the first time in Europa Universalis, populations are represented on the map in detail, so provinces may be divided by religion or culture. Your decisions will determine how these populations will fare under your leadership.
PREVAIL in the greatest strategic challenges of the past. Test your expertise in grand strategic planning on a worldscape larger and more detailed than seen in any previous Paradox Interactive game. Challenge yourself to outdo the most famous rulers of the past, eclipsing their grand accomplishments and building your own vision of a richly detailed globe.

TL;DR: EUV released as a potentially worthy heir to EUIV, but like any good heir it has suffered a tragic hunting accident since launch. Upon release EUV was a rough cut gem; a fascinating simulation of the demographics, economics and war of the world's modern era. There were issues, omissions and flaws, but overall it yielded a fun game that told interesting stories and seemed to striving for (if not quite reaching) a coherent vision. Since release, however, the game has suffered a series of heel turns in vision, overcorrections in game balance and incoherent updates that have shattered the original flawed simulation. Being a fan of EUV is now an exercise in trying to ride a unicycle while someone is trying to keep you balanced by adding huge weights to one side, then the other, then the one side again. The balancing veers so vastly between updates that it's become incredibly difficult to stay aware of what how it *actually* works at any given time. Despite the constant updates, many core systems that seemed "lacking but with potential" on release still haven't been fixed. EUIV was one of my favourite games of all time. EUV was on track to become a worthy successor upon release, but now it seems further from getting there than it was before. It's a shame, because Tinto seems to have a clear vision and a dedicated team. I wish them all the best in getting this vision translated to their game and look forward to revisiting it when they do.

Johans vision for this game forgot one critical element: Making it actually fun to play, and somehow it gets worse with every patch, most recently the pop growth/disease balancing nightmare but many other extremely questionable decisions that in the end just make the game less fun, maybe in a few years with masive overhauls to many of this games core systems it can surpass eu4, but for now Id avoid this game, who knows if they'll pull another imperator or not.
I’m tired of Paradox releasing empty games and trying to fix them with DLC for the next five years Every time I buy one of their games at launch I pay full price for something that feels like an unfinished beta. There is barely any content variety or long term goal. After two or three years and several paid DLCs the game finally becomes somewhat playable and even then it is usually just average If the game isn’t finished release it as Early Access. Don’t sell it at full price don’t call it a finished product and don’t expect players to fund the rest of its development Almost every campaign feels the same. I start interested play for around 100 years and then get bored because there is nothing meaningful to work toward. More simulation depth sounds good but it means nothing when the systems are unfinished badly balanced or just not fun The game needs bug fixes more content better progression and stronger core mechanics. Instead we keep getting balance patch after balance patch Please don’t add actual content or fix the main problems just keep changing numbers while the game stays empty Save your money and wait a few years. Maybe by then the game will be worth playing after buying several DLCs to finish the product you already paid for
Каждый патч, должен был бы чинить игру, и добавлять новые функции, но по факту он только ломает, то что работало
Save your money until the game gets more developed. At the moment, every campaign I start, I find myself getting bored after 100 years, as there's just nothing to build up to. I know some people disliked EU4's mission trees for being too railroaded, but they at least gave each nation unique goals and a sense of progression. Currently, they do have some historical events, but it's not clear how you get them to fire, leading you to either find a guide to assist you or just miss 80 to 90% of them because the trigger conditions are so specific that it's basically impossible to stumble into them. At the moment, all nations just feel the same after 100 years. Even nations like Castille and France, which historically had a lot going on, just feel interchangeable.
Too much micromanagement it simply takes all the fun out of the game, and personally, I think they should add the mission tree like in EU4, it makes the game more fun and meaningful. If in the future they managed to reduce the aumount of micromanagement, the game will be more playable and fun.
Stop releasing half-baked games at ridiculous prices before you get a reputation like EA or Ubisoft's
worst game of all time i wish i could get a refund
żałuje że wydałem jakiekolwiek pieniądze na tą grę, zero przyjemności, nieintuicyjna do bólu, równie dobrze mógłbym zostawić odpalić ją afk żeby kliknąć parę razy event i powiedzieć że przeszedłem
