Easily my favorite game I have purchased in the last year.

A decent attempt at the Disco Elysium formula. Very different tone though, and worse in pretty much every way, though not by a wide margin, so it's still a good time regardless.

Можно удовлетворить следующие фетиши - обсуждение геополитики, гендерного дискурса, для смешариков ещё есть дискуссия о природе алайментов, того как они работают и как не работают. Ещё есть сносное подземелье, и примерно по 1 удачной шутке на 3 ужасных.

It's rare for me to reach the end of something and have it actually become better for it. Esoteric Ebb managed that. During the game, admittedly on a high INT and CHA run, I felt bogged down by the discussions and lore characters continued to drop on me. Everyone's opinion, including my own character's opinion, on the world was so scatter shot and not in a familiar way like Disco Elysium; in a way where the game felt like holding on for dear life flipping through fantasy commentators and as a result could grind to a halt at a moments notice. Then it ended and that commentary began to pull together to create one final thesis. And it sang. So, do I think it's superior to Disco Elysium? No. But its a more optimistic exploration of related themes that, while it doesn't always execute some ideas well, does so well with what it does right I recommend it to any one interested in the CRPG/Adventure hybrid games Disco spawned. Both the time and price investments are well worth the price of admission. Its often said that first games are first drafts and the second game is the game the creators actually wanted to make. And regardless of if it is a sequel to Esoteric Ebb or a new title altogether, I'm very excited to see what Christoffer Bodegard creates next.
