In the world where dangerous adventures are a fact of life, three brothers were born. They grew up brave warriors and were always together, but the fate separated them. Later, fighting the undead yet another time, the youngest brother made a fatal mistake. This is how our story begins...

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

(Got this game for free via the developer's submission to SteadyGiveaways. Thanks!)
Only thing to escape from in its current state is this game!
The story is simple and...completely irrelevant...involving the protagonist born with 2 brothers and how they later got separated. The protagonist kills demons and frequents inns and brothels...completely irrelevant information. What's worst about it is that the protagonist is said to kill demons, yet all he can do in the game is to jump over them and die to them...nothing to defend himself. Escape the Darkness is a runner that can be compared easily to Run, Zeus, Run. They're both indie platformers where you can die quickly after a single hit. Biggest difference is RZR is completely free where EtD costs $1 ($0.84 on sale). Escape the Darkness (unlike Run, Zeus, Run) has wonky jump physics where you can sometimes triple jump and other times you can't. Levels are mostly procedurally generated with the exception of milestone points. This...isn't a blessing in any way. Obstacles often spawn in a manner so that death is inevitable. Don't believe me? Here's a screenshot. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1356776673 I've run into situations similar to that several times. Sometimes with a bird flying above making me unable to even jump at all. There are also some floating platforms that appear...no you can't jump through them. All of this to an annoying 3-5 second music loop. Is there anything I enjoyed about Escape the Darkness? Yes...I liked the artwork that's provided in the opening cutscene (which CANNOT be skipped at all...). But is the artwork the saving grace for Escape the Darkness? No. The bugs and intense difficulty of the procedurally generated levels makes this game too hard to really enjoy. Though the tag states it's "casual", it's not so casual when you find yourself dying within a matter of seconds. If you really want this game, get it for $0.50. Otherwise, just play Run, Zeus, Run (which is free, has an achievement spam, AND provides you the ability to briefly defend yourself). 2/10 Take it from me and escape this game...

When Witcher goes Dark Souls Mario. That's hardly an overstatement. This game has something like a spark, a feeling that arises mostly from indie games, where the creators have poured their soul into the creation. As a result we get a casual yet challenging adventure / runner game that feels like a solid represenative of the genre. Filled with references (hilarious ones) - this game has an eye-catching design and an aura of old NES classiscs. The price was good, the experience - positive... can't complain at all. I only wish i knew how to crack the magic of the triple jump xD
I had a good laugh with the game. It's short, but considering the price it's O.K.
"Escape the Darkness" is yet another of several hundred, if not thousands of garbage low effort endless runners plaguing Steam. Like all endless/autorunners, you're moving and you can't stop. All you can do is avoid the obstacles coming at you in this incredibly shallow shovelware game, and in this case you can only jump. Truly, this is pure garbage. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just point and click stuff like a browser/Flash game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. "Escape the Darkness" is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. This game features a number of suspicious, likely fake positive reviews. The reviews all appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, all are in Russian, and all have very similar wording and writing style. Immediately after this huge peak of reviews, reviews (and player counts) for the game dropped incredibly sharply. This is highly unusual given the very low quality of the game and poor player counts. The "Positive" review score on this game should be taken with a large grain of salt. This might have been done to deceive/mislead gamers into paying for a bad product.
Раздражают ситуации, в которых невозможно пройти врагов. А так ничего такой хардкорчик. Жду историй про среднего и старшего брата
