Got this game in a bundle. The open world sandbox elements kind of suck and don't add much. The timer and calendar would probably be better spent in a hub-and-spoke style rather than putting you on a timer for events. The game itself pretty much still guides you in a linear way, so it doesn't really capture the feel of being a sandbox game. I think my biggest complaint with the game is that the hero is a petulant manchild who isn't written in a way that is plausible or realistic. I feel like the game would have been improved with him as a mostly silent protagonist. Even after several major life or death encounters where he's forced to rely on others, he continues to fail to progress as a human and continues to toot his own horn as God's gift to the world. Sadly, given that there's some kind of "destined hero" plot, he probably is going to be vindicated and his character development is likely to be abrupt. I don't know because I never got there and I don't really want to. The challenge in the game is mostly just enemies doing stupider amounts of damage, encouraging grinding instead of forcing tactical play. In the few instances I encountered any sort of opening for tactics, they were either "use multishot to hit all the dudes at once like you were going to do anyway" or "use this one random chance for status effect ability and hope it sticks because if it doesn't you wipe." Even better, like all RPG Maker games, bosses are immune to status effects aside from specific instances because the designer can't make a status system that doesn't cripple bosses (it's not hard). Of course, if you grind you just steamroll the enemy because it doesn't do enough damage so the tactical elements don't even matter. The game leaves you with only two party members for too long, and teases you constantly by showing named characters with portraits who could potentially help but don't for whatever reason, and then gives you party members for a moment before removing them because the game doesn't want you to have nice things. TP generation is horribly balanced. Most TP attacks actually are TP-positive if you generate TP by dealing damage. Of course, this makes it really bad if you miss which makes fluke misses really, really hurt. Because it's a VX Ace game with too many scripts, it lags like crazy. Run fewer scripts (like the stupid time counter script), make smaller maps and have fewer events on a given map by splitting them up so the game can actually process. Not really recommended when there's far better RPG Maker games out there with better tactical combat and strategic options.

I am sorry but I have to give this game a negative review. First it takes a good 60-90 minutes before you get through two toons and a starter story. Then you get out in the world and have no way to progress. The dev made money almost impossible to get. So when you die or need rest you can’t rest in your bed or starter in. Kill slimes, bats, get exp and I guess ingredients that you can’t sell. Become poisoned and due to lack of gold, you can’t rest in an inn, cant revive a dead member and walk around with 1 hp. Congrats dev. While your story seemed ok but to long to get into at start it is 100% BS that you have no way to rest at an inn or generate funds to recover. WTF is ore and bat wings and so on good for if I can’t rest! All I wanted was 10 gold, but sorry you can't even generate that in this game.
The main character is one of the most unlikable protagonists I've seen in a long time. A lecherous drunken homophobe, why would I ever want to listen to this guy? Much less play as him? The game pacing is pretty slow, and while some of the other characters are interesting the areas are usually too much of a slog to be at all enjoyable.
What I liked: The open world feel of the game, the fact that there was a sprawling environment at my fingertips The hidden details and little bits of humour What could be improved: The aesthetic, maybe try to find one font and build off that? The moving, keybinding controls is essential in all games these days, especially if a player can't use a mouse of find the controls uncomfortable. The reading, there's too much story for me. Not a bad thing by any means! But oh my god that first scene in the inn took at least three minutes for me to hold down the mouse and get through. The mouse movement is horrendous. it takes far too long to get through to another area. When I die, take me back to my last save, or at least give me an option to, I don't want to stop playing. Overall, I don't enjoy playing this game. It's also not my type so feel free to ignore me and my 0.3 hours
It boggles my mind that anyone could give this game a thumbs down. This is probably one of the best RGP maker games I have played in years. Yes, the protagonist is an arrogant, pompous ass, but the dialogue and banter between all the characters makes him almost likeable. It is a very large, open world, and not always linear. There are tons of quests, guilds, crafting, exploration...thankfully the quest log helps keep you on track since it can get overwhelming. I'm a completionist, and it took me about 70 hrs to complete. The story is interesting, and the game play is very balanced. Early on, money is a bit of an issue, since monsters don't drop money, but doing quests/contracts helps build up your bank. Overall, a great game, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
With RPG Maker MV, a new generation of godawful fan fictions made by sweaty neckbeards in their basements was unleashed on the general public (by going direct to shovelware bundles like this one did). Eredia is a weak fanfic slapped together with RPG Maker, featured crappy retro pixel graphics, crappy Japanese wannabe anime art, and terribly thought out gameplay. This is all because some Gen Ys played Final Fantasy when they were growing up and thought they could stop stocking shelves at the grocery store and become a real game dev by pushing buttons and using premade assets in RPG Maker, and now we have literally hundreds of these games infesting the Steam store. Like just about every RPG Maker shovelware on Steam, this is very low quality. Props to the RPG Maker guys for MV though, it's slightly less completely and horrifically ugly to look at. It's still retro pixel crap, though. Also, they're asking $11.50 for this junk, with a straight face. Comedy gold. Valve really will let anything onto the Steam store.
This is a really good rpg maker gamer. it has its flaws, but overall i enjoyed my time playing it. for starters, the world is massive, and its evident a lot of time and love went into putting it together. it has a time mechanic that i havent seen on other rpg makers games. its kinda pointless, but its a good addition i think. the story is also great, but my favorite part were the contracts (side quests). i always welcome the chance of playing as a bounty hunter. there are a lot of them! the characters are unique and lovable (except one of them...) now, the flaws. there are a few bugs and typos, but nothing that'd ruin the game. the game crashed on me a few times too. it only happened like 3 times, but still, its worth considering. but the main flaw FOR ME PERSONALLY, is the main character. he's so annoying! i cant take him or the story seriously when he's such a douche. but overall, i really had lots of fun and would recommend it. 7/10!
Needs more poop jokes.
Short: A great RPG, with a fun cast of characters and lots of detail. I definitly recommend it to anybody looking for a decently sized RPG with more of a focus on exploration and characters. Long: This part may include Spoilers - Gameplay: A typical RPG using a party-system simialar to Dragon Quest or FF, even tho it's combat system goes less into depth then either of these. Your parties skill sets and personalities are predetermined and can not be changed (Except for one character, whoose skill set can be decided on between warrior or paladin). This streamlines it for people who are less focused on number crunching, but if you want to carefully craft your own build, this may be a mute point. Other then combat, there is also a large amount of exploration to be done, as the game has a well sized map, that has a variety of hidden quests, items and bosses. You will have to deal with random encountrs during your travels and exploration though. There are also a variety of puzzles in this game, that can sometimes be very easy or very annoying, if you are not into puzzeling. If you have trouble with where to go next, there is a guide written by a user here on steam. Characters and Dialogue: I personally found most characters to be well written and entertaining, even though I did not like the main character for some time, he grew on me after I spend some time on the game. The other party members have memorable personalities and the whole group has some very good banter. The villain(s) mostly well written and most of the supporting cast are at least interesting, even though you may not like every character. Technical problems: The game mostly runs smoothly, even though whenever I opened my questlog and opened a certain quest, my frames would be dropping. Other then that, I did find a few bugs, where you could walk through some walls and I did have a problem with the autosafe function once, costing me about two hours of gameplay. The game also crashed a few times during my playthrough. A story playthrough took me about 40h, without postgame and without doing all quests before finishing the mains story. I ended up beeing overleveled a bit because I did a lot of quest at some point because the game told me, I may not be able to do them after the next story event. If you want to circumvent this, either play on a higher difficulty or try to avoid unneccesary fights. The game is getting a sequel, so I thought it would be a good idea to finally write this down. Goodbye
