A fun, quick little horror game. The game feels like it rushes through a lot of plot points you would tend to see in these kinds of games, but this feels more like a test game for a small studio just starting out or a group of friends making something to see if they can. Its free, its fun for what it is, try it out.

Плюсы: оригинальная тематика — акцент на эпигенетике и мутациях создаёт необычный сеттинг, отличающийся от типичных хорроров; напряжённая атмосфера — сочетание тёмных коридоров лаборатории, тревожного саундтрека и внезапных угроз держит в напряжении; геймплейная связность — головоломки напрямую связаны с сюжетом и темой мутаций (анализ образцов, настройка оборудования и т. д.). Минусы: высокая сложность выживания — нехватка ресурсов и агрессивные мутанты могут привести к частым смертям, что фрустрирует; ограниченный туториал — основные механики и биологические концепции раскрываются не всегда понятно, требуется самостоятельное освоение; однотипность врагов — виды мутантов немногочисленны, их поведение со временем становится предсказуемым. Итог: заинтересует любителей науч‑попа и хорроров с интеллектуальным уклоном — впечатляет необычной темой эпигенетики, гнетущей атмосферой и тематическими головоломками, но может разочаровать высокой сложностью выживания, скудным обучением и ограниченным разнообразием противников.

Epimutation is a free short horror game about a group of seven trapped inside a bunker in a forest. The world has ended and monsters now occupy our countries. For the protagonists, they must find a way to continue survival while they discover the truth behind the monsters and how to identify the infected. This game is short, topping about 1 hour of playtime. There are multiple sequences of talking to your bunkmates and sending them out two at a time to scavenge. There's a decent mystery behind the game and the human moments of the game come in talking to the characters. As for queer representation, the protagonist is nonbinary and there are two lesbian characters who are in a relationship with each other. I found it interesting and meaningful. I liked the characters and the art style and felt anxiety at a lot of key moments. Much save scumming was completed. I do recommend this game; the art and CGs are great and it's a good experience.

I got very invested with the characters and world even if i kinda wished it was a lil longer, even so what's here is very well done and i hope Barbie who is now known as Starlight Detective makes more projects like this one!

There are some shortcomings, but overall it's a great start to the series, the monster & how they infect others is a breath of fresh air. Hope the story continues.
