I had this game in my wishlist for a long time while waiting for new patches to come. So, when I saw the July update (0.7 version), I jumped in. After more than an hour playing, I can say for sure it's a cool game. Long story short, for those seeking for information before buy it, 'End State' is clearly inspired by Jagged Alliance, what becomes obvious with the body parts aiming. The turn-based combat follows the same mechanics, although the exploration is not free as in JA3 (your squad walks turn-based before combat, such as in XCOM). Of course there are missing features, hence the EA - by the way, I think it's a solo dev project: no voice acting (although the sound of the bullets and ricochets is pretty cool), some kinky animations, lack of more informations while in the mission's map...but for me this things were not deal breakers. Besides the battle's audio and the cool JA's mechanics, the graphics are the highlight - impressive work on the scenery. The price is fair for the work done, let's hope the dev will keep improving it.
As a fan of Jagged Alliance 2 and XCOM style games I had high hopes for this. It has been a massive disappointment. I have played plenty of "Early Access" games that were further along before pre-release. Game was unplayable at release and still is 3 years later. Has a lot of great work in the graphics and audio departments but the game function is trash. If they fix that can be an amazing title.

Honestly, if you're searching for a full game, you should add it to your wishlist and follow the development and wait. It's a small indie developer and they're currently working on certain things that will take time, but at the end it's a win-win for everyone. Spend money only if you really want to support the developers ! But now about the game itself: I can see a lot of potential... I spend 4 hours right now and had a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what the future will bring to this game. The graphic looks good, the gameplay is easy to handle.... at the end, I am glad I've got the game :) ! Would I buy it again ? Absolutely yes ! Is it a scam ? I don't think so ! As I said, buy only into it if you really want to support the developers and the game, not to expect an fully developed JA4 or something ;) !
Not Recommended The game feels completely abandoned. There haven’t been any updates for a very long time. It’s still in a very early state, full of bugs and missing content. There was potential here, but right now it looks like the project has been left unfinished.
The game is kind of in the early 7 Days To Die stages of development right now but the developers are hard at work. It's definitely a game to follow if you're interested and buy if you want to support the devs. A major update just came out today with tons of new features and bug fixes!
So glad this game isn’t dead. Had it on the wishlist for years, bought it when it finally dropped on steam EA and it was *very* under cooked. Even in that state I got about 10 hours out of it and the game was surprisingly fun. Eager to jump back in and see what’s new.
Still a lot of work to be done, but great progress on the development! It's already fun to play!
Always loved these kind of games! A great combination of XCOM and Jagged Alliance. Love it!
Absolute garbage, do not buy.
