Reviews
I saw this game getting a lot of praise for its game design and decided to check it out. Now I can't stop playing...
Such GREAT fun from days gone bye....
Very hard to jump into without a manual of everything that is going on. No real scaffolding to speak of. Game is clearly deep, just a little too opaque and clunky UI compared to modern QOL and the contact hours available to a childbearing years player needed to fully enjoy the probable deep setting, lore, and mechanics.

EFS was great fun back in 1997. As of 2026 it is still great fun.
Great strategy game!
good
The very first job I ever had, in the mid-90s, not old enough to drive because I was in Jr high: I bought this game. Easily pumping 2 thousand hours in this silly game. I enjoyed starting new games and playing them until the game itself would crash. Flash forward to the 2020s, and this game is better than it has ever been. Please know this game has elements that today's games do not. I can spend time on building an empire, curtailing my enemies instead of destroying them fully. I still have the OG Cds, box, and manuals.
one of the best 4x games iwe played .
Very old school graphics hide a surprisingly complex turn-based empire management game. No manual, no hand holding, be prepared for a steep learning curve. Recent reboot has several minor, but appreciated, QoL improvements. Still enjoyable after almost 30 years.
