Ecto is a highly-randomized nature world that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Collect the star fragments to beat the level
Along the way, you can interact with almost everything in the level
Collect coins to buy peculiar trinkets from Froggieman's shop to mess around with
Compete with yourself (or your friends) to set record speedrunning times between randomly placed islands.
