At present, its difficult to recommend this game. I am a huge Musou fanboy. I have played and beat just about every Musou since 2012, even the anime and Nintendo spinoffs.
Origins is a good game, but it is not the best Musou like many claim.
The good:
Probably makes you feel the most spectacle of any Musou. You genuinally feel like you are in the middle of these absolute massive battles.
The gameplay feels tight and good overall. My only gripe is adding the horse to the left control stick push is a dumb keybind.
The bad:
The story. It is probably the most in depth the story in a Musou, but that means lots and lots of cutscenes. In the first 2 hours, I did like 2 small battles and the rest was mostly just cutscenes and dialogue. If youre new to the franchise, it might be good, but if you have played these games for years upon years, it gets tedious.
There is only a single playable character. Musou games are known well for their huge rosters of unique playable characters. Games like Warriors Orochi 4 have around 178 unique playable characters.
With that, there are only around 9 playable weapons and not all of them are fun. The sword you get at the start feels like classic Musou but the others don't feel great to use or feel every more spammy and braindead than other Musou games.
The game is also pretty easy. People were shouting about how this Musou game is finally difficult and I am not seeing it. Playing on max difficulty and the only time I need to even worry is if i get surrounded by like 4 officers who are boosted with morale. Otherwise the parry window is extremely generous and most fights are spamming attack until the enemy attacks, parry, break their guard and finish move them.
If this game was $40, I would absolutely recommend it. But to enjoy the complete experience of the full game and DLC, you are looking at over $100 total when not on sale and over $75 when on sale. That is crazy for an series known for having tons of content in their games (in comparison I put 320 hours 100%ing Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes and have over 600 hours on Warriors Orochi 4).
