The Absolute Evil and its trusted *cough* servant, the Dark Elf Thalya, return in Dungeons 4 after the events of its fabulous predecessor to bring about their triumph over the forces of good once more.

Feels kinda meh. The writing and characters work for a lot of people, but the setup is not doing much for me. I think I liked it in the earlier games, but right now it feels forced and formulaic. The novelty had worn off. Gameplay wise, I'm not really enjoying it. First the game does some simple missions to introduce the factions, fine... Then you get to play with all of them, and it doesn't feel like there's a lot of synergy or utility to it. Feels sensible to focus and upgrade just one. The main gameplay loop consists of constantly dragging your army in and out of the dungeon because your attempt to wipe the surface outposts get constant interruptions from invaders that keep spawning in some unreachable location. Playing this game kinda just makes me want to reinstal DK2.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

dungeons 3 was superior in almost every way. this is what happens if core ideas are neglected and someone comes in with his own bright ideas to move this inch by inch away from success. i kept playing dungeons 3 rather than playing this. until today that is when their launcher constantly keeps reopening instead of opening the game. tha kalypso launcher is a joke anyways. not in the history of games has any gamer liked those launchers and accounts he has to open just to play. there are versions on the internet that bypass their launcher and paying the developer. those seem to be the only ones working to play the actual game.
Get Dungeons 3, I really want to like this game but between annoying level design, less punchy humour and reworked mechanics which detract from previous titles, if you want to play a game from the dungeon series, play 3.
So this game is bad, and here is why: The campaign gives you the illusion of choice. Horde, Demons, or Undead? Sounds great—until you realize every mission is clearly designed around a specific faction. Play the way the developers intended, or prepare to get absolutely wrecked. Traps are basically decoration. In Dungeons 3, you could magically upgrade them and turn your dungeon into a death machine. Here? They're about as threatening as a wet napkin. Why remove one of the best features from the previous game? Enemy scaling is completely out of whack. The first few waves are laughably easy, and then suddenly the game decides it's time for suffering. Enemy HP triples, damage triples, and surprise spiders or dwarves start appearing in your underground. One minute you're chilling, the next you're fighting a three-front war. The game barely innovates. It takes most of its ideas from Dungeons 3, adds a few new things, and somehow manages to make several existing mechanics worse.
As someone who really likes Dungeon Keeper, I gotta say. This is just not it. The Overworld feels like it just gets in the way of what should be the meat of the game in favor of having a mosh pit of monsters kill groups of heroes who... are just standing around waiting to die I guess? The dungeon building itself isn't horrible but the problem is it has no point. Your troops hangout in the overworld 90% of the time so no one is really interacting with the rooms half the time, and there's no real sim to it. I remember getting super attached to my monsters in DK, in this they seem to just be throw aways for the most part. All playing this has made me do is remember that the only really good successor we have to DK is War for the Overworld, which came out in 2015. There have been many attempts to crack the DK formula, but the problem is it doesn't need to be cracked or reinvented. Just modernize it, stop taking features out of it. Yes this game looks pretty, but my god is it boring
If they overhauled the interface, fired the writers, and focused on the parts that the game does well (i.e. the actual dungeons), this could have been a great game. But they didn't, so it isn't. It's the same jokes and essentailly the same mission repeated over and over.
worse than dungeons 3, better than all the others, game's much harder, but unlike some people say, the game does not give you the illusion of choice, if you want to go completionist tho, then yea sure i guess, if you cannot "choose" what faction to use in every story chapter, thats user issues, not game issues... that said, game's definitely worse than dungeons 3, factions feel much weaker, buildings are unlocked much later, you cannot use anything to its "fullest" easily and you do not have your 3 elite units anymore which, in my opinion, is the worse part of this game. i still recommend it if youve done everything in 3 and just want more dungeons, this game is different and worse than the 3rd game, but it is in no way a "bad" game, just turn down difficulty if youre new or you will struggle. In short, if youve never played a dungeons game before go play 3! you might not like this one as much, 3 is much more beginner friendly and honestly, just more fun in general, but it doesnt mean i didnt have fun with this one regardless!
Dungeons 4 is what happens when an RTS stops trying to win awards and just decides to have a good time. The strategy is about as deep as a kiddie pool, but honestly, who cares when your minions are slapping each other and the narrator is roasting your every decision? The art style is delightfully goofy, the units are full of personality, and the game never misses a chance to make fun of itself—or you. Missions are long enough to feel satisfying without becoming a second job, and the campaign actually kept me engaged the whole way through. If you want hardcore tactics and endless micromanagement, look elsewhere. If you want to laugh while building an evil lair and throwing heroes into bottomless pits, welcome home.
