About
Drone Sector fuses the gunship close air support role with the drone's observation and mission command. Inspired by the real-life AC-130 gunship and MQ-9 Reaper drone, it merges these powerful roles in a futuristic setting, where advanced technology and heavier firepower enable you to take on more complex and dangerous missions. While not a pure military simulator, the focus remains on tactical planning and execution, with greater flexibility in mission design and weaponry.
Guide your squads as they advance through hostile environments to achieve mission objectives. Command with precision, helping them avoid traps and eliminating high-priority threats with your overwhelming firepower. Outnumbered by enemy forces, you’ll need to maximize your technological superiority to turn the tide.
During each mission, you’ll need to make strategic decisions about resource gathering. Send your ground squads into buildings or key areas to collect vital resources and research documents—but this comes with risk. Stay too long, and you may lose your squad to overwhelming enemy forces. Decide when to extract and when to push your luck for valuable rewards.
Between missions back at base, upgrade your gunship, squads, and weapons. Manage your ammo production and research new technologies to improve your chances in the field.

Commanding self-sufficient squads on the ground

Great game with a lot of potential. It's the CoD4 AC-130 mission but EXPANDED beyond the scope you'd reasonably expect. - Controlling the ground troops rather than just babysitting them - An economy system and expansive tech tree - A vast array of different weapons you can take into battle NOTE: Right now content is a little slim but all the bones are there for this to be an incredible gem. If the asking price atm is a little steep for you, just wishlist it and come back in 6-12 months and see if/how the dev's have cooked with it.
Right off the bat, this is an awesome game, perhaps not terraria and factorio level good in top-down drone games but the best I played so far even though it is in early access, I played it specifically on Linux under Proton 9.0.4. Worth the 15eur and I hope in the future steam workshop capability is added to be able to add new ammo, units, objectives, gunships maybe, weapons and research progression as well as ammunition manufacturing (such as first making casings, warheads, gunpowder, etc... which would make the possibility to have say APFSDS 30mm shell have speed of 1700m/s but only 500g of mass or have the same 30mm shell travel at 1100m/s but have 900g of mass for more damage, the difference would be less gunpowder in the shell for the purpose of using a longer sabot penetrator). Like I said more detailed progression due to steam workshop as "user made campaign" which could feature stuff like 1st gen thermals, 2nd gen thermals, 3rd gen thermals and these would be gradually unlocked, not 8K resolution at once, of course this is more hard or even hardcore but still. Much more possible, would like to see cluster bombs, thermobaric weapons, laser guided rockets (small, APKWS style) or missiled (big, either beam riding like russian Vikhr or american JAGM-179 SAL), speaking of which, some flame bombs, bunker buster bombs or missiles against bunkers that could be added, or even calling in a bunker buster Tu-95M/B-2 support for long range missile that would take say 2 minutes to arrive to destroy something marked by the player. There could also be pillboxes, the reason I suggest these armored buildings is that as it stands, as far as I played on normal difficulty, I can erase enything and everything with the default Vulcan and the first two belts being HEI and API, I can not use anything else and still beat the game assuming I bring enough AMMO. These types of missions could make it so that you have to bring a certain loadout for the mission, hell there could be an implementation of subsonic ammunition in the style of Flying Ginsu AGM-114R9X to silentrly take out certain enemies without alerting everyone, well the missile in this case would launch and by the time it is coming close to the target, it would no longer be accelerating and would be almost totally silent and would shred the enemy unit without explosions resultng in stealth kill, this obviously would not be doable against armored units such as Tanks, AFV, APC, IFV but could be done against Transport Trucks as those have thin roof, but that would make a sound so such vehicle would have to be far away from other opposing units, food for thought.

挺有意思的小游戏,就是内容有点少
不错的游戏,不过地面部队的各种谜之操作有点难绷,以及挑战性不是太强,未来可期
Really great game idea, I like it a lot
checked the forum before buying and saw 14 march that they would added inverted Y-axis to the game. 5 month later I bought the game and there was no inverted Y-axis so I just requested a refund. Today the game was updated that added inverted mouse, sadly to late for. I will buy it in the future again.
